Dewave2 just finishing what I was explaining if you submitted original documents and you want them back you have to file form I-844 in order to ask Uscis to return those documents, but as I said they won't give you copy, they will return the original documents. You said you want copy of the entire package as i said there is no provision in the INA law stating that, you can file out form I-844 and they will send you all original documents that you submitted in the past.

Thank you for the reply!

I thought this was kind of possible, due to some information as part of an extremely helpful guide that IO have been using to bring the package together.

The link is here:

http://www.ilrc.org/files/document_gathering_for_self-petitioning_under_the_violence_against_women_act.pdf

On page 21, it mentions the following:

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

This law permits self-petitioners to view their own immigration files, if any exist. If the

abuser has already started the petition process for the self-petitioner, the documents that

self-petitioners get from a FOIA request may verify not only the marriage, but also the

abuser's immigration status. Self-petitioners who suspect that papers have been filed by

their abusers on their behalf should follow the procedure explained in Appendix 11.

It also shows reference to form: G-369

Am I just reading this completely wrong, with regards to accessing the paperwork filed?

thank you and please post somewhere else.

thats baloney! (if you know what that means!) there are so many fraudsters on here, and in america, he/she has a rite to voice his/her opinion. Many are not genuine in their VAWA procedure. and these marriage frauds are ruining the system. Its good that USCIS is waking up to this epedimic and denying those who cannot PROVE their "good intentions to marry" or their "good moral character"!

I think u are just looking for attention and should be ignored. When u keep posting AND no one response u will feel irelavant and stop posting.and u said your wife made a fraudulent claim but with you not respecting people here when many people told u that's not the thread for you to post and u continue to deliberately post u sure come across as an ABUSER. instead of comming on a forum to try to abuse people make a difference contact congress about Wat happened to you if you are not making a false claim yourself. How about that?

Dewave2 when you file FOIA is just to have access to your file, not get copies and they take around 1 year to answer a FOIA request

A year? Well thats that idea out of the window! Thank you for the heads up!! Im going to have to look at other ways to try and get the documents I need!
