I Get very sad when i log into this forum and see people questioning our motives. this forum has been my safe haven, i always log on to vent and get encouragement from

here. For some reason lately i dont feel too safe here, everybody here has their own story and i ipray to God that no woman/man has to go through some of the things i went through. If you guys dont hear from me for a while its because am staying away, but i will still post if anything changes. Thank you all for your kind words, may God protect us all.

Why are u letting anyone discourage u. The internet is not a safe place entirely. My husband abuse me and got a free pass I REFUSE to let anyone abuse me be it physical, verbal etc. NEVER again. I think we can ask questions but not post personal information which I haven't seen anyone post that can identify you. That's like finding a needle in a hay stack. Please don't be discourage.take care

Dewave if something is missing in your case they will send you an RFE anyway, they don't refuse your case. You must submit Police certificate, proof of her status(copy of her passport or copy of her birth certificate), proof of the abuse and proof of a bonafide marriage. As soon they have these things they will issue a prima facie.USCIS WILL NOT call your wife to attend any interview or make any phone to talk to her ok. She may send it some nasty letters or documents to USCIS and sometimes they put together with the Vawa filer file ,but they will considerate your proof not her statement.

Vawa Unit will adjudicate your form I-360 WITHOUT INTERVIEW, they are immigration officers, and once they approved your case you will have to attend your adjustment of status interview with immigration if you are not in removal proceedings, if you are in removal proceedings as soon your vawa is approved your lawyer should ask immigration to close administratively your proceedings and then the judge will send out your case to be adjudicated by USCIS;if you have been present physically in the United States for three years before applying form I-360 then you are eligible to apply directly with the Immigration Court for CANCELATION OF REMOVAL.You have to discuss this things with your lawyer. Once your vawa is approved I recommend to ask the Court to close your case, not terminate just to close, and then you will have your AOS adjudicate by USCIS.

Yagana please take care. With all that we've endured we have earned the right to fight for our safe place. We should not be afraid to vent here because of some people. The world will never be rid of creeps and abusers as long as human beings exist, but we can't let the bad dictate our actions or outweigh the good. You're a strong woman for walking out of an abusive relationship, and you're strong enough to get the tools you need to stay free of abuse and manipulation. God bless.

Thank you ever so much for this help! I HOPE that from it, I have found something, I'll know more tomorrow once I visit there to see if I can have any psychiatric help!

You're welcome. Check out this link from ASISTA, under the "Filing a VAWA Case" headline: http://www.asistahelp.org/en/access_the_clearinghouse/vawa/ There are several useful links and pdfs there that will help you and anyone else filing now.

Here's the most recent VSC stakeholder's Teleconference notes: http://www.asistahelp.org/documents/resources/VSC_Teleconference_Notes_and_Practi_78CAA286F8F71.pdf (VAWA starts from Page 17)

Here's the expedite criteria - Appendix to the above Teleconference: http://www.asistahelp.org/documents/resources/Appendix_I_to_VSC_Fall_2012_telecon_8D1C3F110D8F0.pdf This document also has VSC's phone number and email in case you need to contact them.

Everyone,

Here's another document containing some information on affidavits from experts, and removal proceedings: http://www.asistahelp.org/documents/resources/Expert_Affidavit_Guidelines_AB3498B38B0A8.pdf

I read through the entire VAWA part 1 thread last year when I was coming out of the fog of depression. ASISTA was one of the resources mentioned there, as well as Catholic Charities. If there's a Catholic charities in your area, you'd do well to contact them and see if they can offer you some assistance. They usually have some type of housing program. In my area what they had was for women/women with children, but they should have resources to offer the guys, direct the guys to somewhere safe for housing, or help with rental assistance.

I'll post more links to documents when I can.

God bless us all.
