Sandranj,

how are you? Do you know how long usually we have to wait for a decision after people handed in the RFs. I have been waiting my case over 14 moths. and i did get my fourth prima facies. they asked the RFs on April 22nd, and they received my RFs on May 3rd. right now it is already june 11, but i still get nothing from USCIS. do you think it is normal.

I feel very hopeless.

What kind of info did they ask for RFE if you don't mind me asking?

Nothinglcando they received my rfe on may 2 but still havent heard anything from them...im going crazy too..hopefully we,ll hear from them soon

Missymd can yo please share what your RFE was about?

VSC can request all types of evidence. It depends on what the petitioner did not include. It can range from documents establishing identity e.g. birth certificate, to documents showing good moral character. Several members have had RFE's for good moral character, others for abuse, and others for good fa*ih marriage. It really all depends on what the petitioner included in their application.

July 2011 - Applied for VAWA with I-765 and I-485 with fee waivers - receipt date Aug 4, 2011
August 10th 2011 - Received NOA's for all 3, fee waivers accepted
August 26th 2011 - Received EAD
Early July 2012 - Re-applied for EAD based on pending I-485
Mid July 2012 - Received NOA for 2nd EAD
August 1st 2012 - Received EAD
Silence for a few more months
October 26th 2012 - I-360 approval
November 19th '12 - Case transferred
May 2013 - Received interview notice

June 2013 - Interview (approved)

Permanent resident since June 2013

nothingicando it depends, some people receive RFE as soon they file the case, because they forgot to submit some documents such as police clearance (show good moral character) or proof of US Citizen status, or copy of birth certificate etc...then of course if you received RFE as soon you filed then your case will be placed on queue for adjudication (it may take 12/14months), if you received your RFE almost one year after you filed then probably they are ready to adjudicate your case and they are just waiting your RFE answer, and usually they adjudicate in 45/90days after receiving your answer.

An individual can receive an RFE for many reasons such as missing documents,to prove bonafide marriage, to ask about the therapy progress (mental abuse cases), to emend the affidavit, to submit proof of the abuse suffered etc.I helped at least 4 girls from the vida journey that submitted 2 or 3 affidavit pages and after 8/10months they asked those women to tell the whole story IN DETAILS .A few days ago they asked one girl to submit proof showing the progress of her therapy, they asked number of sessions attended, duration of each session, progress of the therapy, to mention if she was taking medication and if she was referred to see a doctor.

Take away from request to expedite - I have tried to expedite my petition in any possible ways starting from February. VAWA unit did not respond to any of my or my lawyers letters. Also, Office of CIS Ombudsman is useless.

As it turns out, when I asked them to inquire about my request to expedite, they sent me this email :"In response to your request for assistance, our office contacted USCIS, who informed us that they are working on your case as quickly as possible. Therefore, we determined that USCIS is already working to expedite your case."

They said to contact them one month later if I don't receive any response from USCIS. So today I did contact them. Now they are saying what they meant by the previous email they sent is this: "Our previous email indicates the Vermont Service Center (VSC) has received the expedited request; however, USCIS did not provide information that the expedite request was granted."

I did not ask them to check if they receive it or not. I know myself that they did because I have a tracking number from usps receipt that says it was delivered.

And at the end of the email they wrote: "We hope that you find this information to be helpful." - Yes, their information was very helpful. Thank you.

I just have to say to god be the glory great things he have done. I have had sleepless nights , crying days but I want to tell everyone that god do answer prayer. I just check my case online and they have approved my case. It's has take the 10 months to approved it. I know the journey has is not fully ended. But I do believe that god will take me through it. All those who don't receive yet don't give up god is still working on your case.
