So I had my I-485 interview yesterday. I went with my binder full of information, but none of it was requested except my passport, birth certificate, Driver's License, EAD and divorce decree. The interview was generally pleasant - short and sweet. And the officer said I should receive my card in 2 - 4 weeks.

July 2011 - Applied for VAWA with I-765 and I-485 with fee waivers - receipt date Aug 4, 2011
August 10th 2011 - Received NOA's for all 3, fee waivers accepted
August 26th 2011 - Received EAD
Early July 2012 - Re-applied for EAD based on pending I-485
Mid July 2012 - Received NOA for 2nd EAD
August 1st 2012 - Received EAD
Silence for a few more months
October 26th 2012 - I-360 approval
November 19th '12 - Case transferred
May 2013 - Received interview notice

June 2013 - Interview (approved)

Permanent resident since June 2013

cielo14 as far i know her children are american right? she will be able able to get food stamp and Tanffor the kids without having to explain anything about Vawa..She has to take with her copy of the children birth certificate. The social service office may try to get child support first before issuing food stamp and tanf.

Your friend status is called " qualified noncitizens ". The DHS knows that individuals who were battered or subjected to extreme cruelty is eligible to receive medicaid and food stamp, despite that some State does not approve food stamp and/or medicaid. It depends of each federal benefit-granting agency.

Iank every week they assigned cases to the adjudicators, but the cases will be placed in the queue for adjudication based when the cases were received. The adjudicators have thousands of cases, It may take weeks for adjudication, even 2 or 3 months.

godisgreat23 are you still in probation? if yes probably the adjudicator will delay final adjudication of your AOS until you probation is over. When your probation is over you can have your DUI expunged from criminal records by petitioning to the court, but only if there is no felony prison time sentenced ok.
