It's unfair to ask Sandranj to start guessing who called. Hopefully, lank can advance such guess.

More generally: does VSC do anything similar? Sandranj seemed to have mentioned some instances of VSC calling around in the past. What were they?

Adjudicator field manual and reg prohibit VAWA unit to inquir from third parties as it generate concerns. Reg and policies confined officers to make a determination based upon the documentation they have in front of them. Unlike traditional Benefits granting petition, i360 is limited in scope of verification. That is why even a congress man has to have a privacy release to inquir about any constituent they are asked about to help. Someone is trying to exaggerate or mislead the forum.

wow. So does anyone know true percentages? Can anyone name any males who were approved?

vawa2013 there are hundreds of DV shelters across the Country for male victims. We have here in this thread at least 3 males that I helped with their Vawa case and they are staying at the domestic violence male's shelter, one of the guys is there 5 months already.

CASE2011 UScis can inquire employers, friends, and landlords of Vawa filers about bonafide marriage. They cannot inquire anyone about the abuse and THEY CANNOT INQUIRE THE ABUSER, not even to confirm bonafide marriage. I saw them contacting landlords, friends and employers SEVERAL times about bonafide marriage. They just mention they are Uscis officers that's all. It's prohibited to disclose any information about VAWA cases , they do not mention they are from Vawa Unit or even mention the Vawa word.

I am going by what the AFM says and what the reg state. Diff officers may interprete legal instruments differently and apply them to their perception of law. In any case I still hold my position on scope and delegated authority vested by the congress.

No not yet. I called the 800 number that was on the notice and the representative just told me to follow the instruction to reschedule on the notice. I will try to walk-in tomorrow and if it doesnt work i will reschedule it but if that doesnt work either, my lawyer'd better have a better idea.

I will remind: the "waiting game" on your case is actually a hopeful sign. I have seen immigration cases, where a humanistic officer didn't want to issue a denial, was giving it more running time - and eventually sent out approval.

Now, when u say "it looks to me"...how? What did u hear from official sources? Or who are the unduly delayed MALES?

(if u meant youngSeattle: he's residing on the opposite side of the globe - so, that's bad for sampling. if u meant MacBook, who got denied: who knows what his case looked like) But if u know the particulars of other cases: please tell us

vawa2013 what is your problem with males applicator of I-360? Why so much hate?

Since you said "...if you meant MacBook, who got denied:who knows what his case looked like..." let me tell you.

My case got denied because I did not proof that my wife is US citizen (even with approved I-130) (You can not have approved I-130 if you did not submit evidence of spouses immigration status) and also on our marriage certificate said US state where she was born so it's immigration's fault for denying my case because I didn't proof her citizenship (USCIS VAWA offices was too lazy to look over my file!)

Second reason why my petition got denied is that i did not submit enaph documentation establishing bona fine marriage. Even with following documentatinon:

Joint credit card, joint electric bills, joint gas bills, affidavits from friends (US Marshal, Immigration officer, attorney, collage professor, Medical doctor, PhD - ALL REPUTABLE SOURCES) AND MUCH MORE DOCUMENTATION.

I believe that they denied my I-360 just because i was male and that it was unlawfully denied. Now I'm waiting on appeal and will go to court (even Supreme) if I have to!

Now friendly advice, before you use somebodyS name and talk about their status get facts. Don't play with peoples emotions. WE ARE HURT ENUAPH, WE DONT NEED TO BE HURT HERE.

To many of us this forum is one of only mental and legal support system!

I'm not attorney and this is not legal advice, this is just my personal opinion!

Can somebody please explain to me how does VAWA appeal process work after I submitted appeal? How long does it take? What does mean if for AAO processing times says:

I-360 VAWA

Violence Against Women Act Petition

Current

What does current mean? (I understand word, but witch day is current? Today's date?)

MacBook, thank u. Your case might have been good, but the way your paperwork arrived to VAWA unit, the adjudicator didn't understand everything the way u saw it. It could be language or procedural nuances. u listed bits of the denial letter; but in order for anyone to be sure what the letter actually said - please post it in it's entirety. To support each other, it's important to post the ACTUAL info. Only then the reader may or may not concur that the reason for denial was that u were male. In the absence of the entire letter, it's like spreading misinformation - and it helps no one on this forum to be misinformed. I hope u don't take this personally - we are talking strictly facts. Hope to help with your appeal

Faithkeeper you will be able to get food stamp in NY.

Financially-eligible non-citizens who qualify for New York State food stamps through the Food
Assistance Program (N.Y.S. SSL §95(10)) are:
1. The following persons:
a. Qualified Alien elderly adults (over age 60), and
b. Qualified Alien domestic violence survivors, who have had Qualified Alien status for less than five years.
I have some cases they got food stamp without any problem in NYC, but I know at least 5 people they denied.I think it depends how well informed the employee is about prima facie.

Thanks Sandra I plan on going there this Friday to apply.
