panamaguy you should find a lawyer to represent you regarding your daughter custody and regarding the restraining order against your wife as well. In the same day you get your Vawa approval notice get a restraining order against her ,kick her out, change the lock doors and file for custody, but you need to do all these things in the same day or same week, then start getting ready now man.Do not wait the approval to start looking for these things, start looking now, and if you get the approval notice in your hands in the morning you should afternoon file a restraining order and kick her out.

I will Sandra

I already had a meeting with a great family attorney yesterday and we will do everything the same day i get the approval. my immigration attorney is working with the family attorney on that. they advice to hire an private investigator to follow my wife and take pictures of the places and people that she hang with to make a stronge case. I cant wait for my approval.

Hi everyone, im new to this site, but im going crazy waiting on my vawa case. Reading about other cases helps to keep my head straight.

I filed for vawa in september 2012, im on my second prima facie. Im terrified that my ex husband finds out that i filed for vawa. hes dangerous, hes been to jail several times on battery charges. I noticed that people say that they know when their case was "touched" by uscis. Can somebody tell me how do I check on that? Thank you! God bless!

USCIS will not tell anyone that you have filed for VAWA, they are prohibited from releasing that information to anyone other than you or your designated representative.

The only way your ex-husband could possibly find out is if either you tell him, or someone else that you tell in turn tells him.

You can tell if your case was touched by looking at the online case status. If it remains at the same stage ("Initial Review", for example) but the date changes, then your case has been "touched". This is as a result of internal processing on your case by USCIS.

Hi daffodils as far as i've learnt too you can check your case status on the USCIS website once you know your receipt number which in my case begins with EAC########### I think all of ours are. Also your lawyer (if you have one) can also follow up for you by calling directly to enquire on your case. Hope this helps!

Easiest way to find out if your Case has been touched, Just go to the USCIS website and Underneath FORMS you will see SIGN UP FOR CASE UPDATES.., after signing up you will put down your email adress and phone number., So any time your Case is ''Touched'' you will receive a text message and email notification ASAP!! You dnt need to be going to the Website to check your case any more Coz it takes ages before it moves from "Initial" Hope that helps Everyone

If you married to an LPR you can send only your I-360 first there is no option to send everything together. Only after it got approved you can apply for work permit. After that you can apply for the adjustment of status only when your priority date becomes current (Family F2A category), until you remain in deferred action status.

If you find out that the LPR abuser naturalized you can update your category to citizenship spouse regardless if you are still married or not.

I-360

4/6/2010 - I-360 filed

4/14/2010 - Prima Facie determination

5/5/2010 - I-360 Approved

AOS

11/15/2010 - I-485, I-765, I-131 filed

11/30/2010 - NOA received

12/13/2010 - Biometrics appointment letter received

12/23/2010 - Attended biometrics

1/3/2011 - Notice of I-485 transferred to NBC

1/29/2011 - Interview notice received for March 1st

2/7/2011 - EAD arrived

2/11/2011 - AP arrived

3/1/2011 - Attended interview

1/7/2012 - Received permanent resident card

faithkeeper LPR's spouse cannot file for AOS because there is no immediate visa number available, thus no work permit, but despite that your lawyer submitted AOS and you got work permit, there are 2 other girls here in the same situation, both got work permit, their husbands are LPR's and they are still waiting Vawa decision.
