Well, the law was passed by voters and as of December 6th it is legal to have One ounce. Law Enforcement is stunded by the decision of Citizens. State enforcement says what the hell do we do now? It will be a taxable drug as Alcohol and Tabacco and will raise millions. Only in America... You get enough signatures and put in the Ballot to Vote and WALLA! It was approved. But wait. It does not change Drug tests for Job Seekers. THC is a No No. DUI is a No No. Just seems to me that the world maybe laughing at the US when the Election was about jobs and the economy. The Federal Goverment can overthrow the approved Vote of Citizens and it might be in the best interests to all. I'm not against the pot but it you ever smoked it, it does impair you, and when impaired you put others at risk because marijanna is a mood altering drug. So, when smokers/job seekers go take a drug test and the test is positive for Marijanna... Your on your own.

It's legal in Alaska and has been for decades now although it's illegal with the Feds. You have to grow your own and you can't sell it. I think it's up to 6 plants per adult in said household so if you have two adults you can have 12 plants. Not that big of a deal compared to booze. With booze you have people shooting each other, beating each other, etc... with weed the worst thing to happen is an over abundance of fat foods such as pie, cake, cookies, ice creak, etc... that and it makes most people lethargic as in they don't get much done after smoking it.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Eh, it's fine. It should have never been made illegal in the first place, just as Cocaine should never have been.

However back in the racial early days of the 1900's it became common place to make things illegal under the idea that it was going to keep those 'cocaine-crazed negros' sane. Same issue with the Latino population at the time and marijuana.

So damn stupid figuring hemp was a big deal!

@ Bad_Daddy... Obama... Yes, Alcohol is worse. Hemp has been around for years and used for manufacturing, even the US military. Now, over the development of time. we made that stuff BAD ####. It's to expensive to make clothes out of at $400.00 an ounce. So someone get the bong.

 You never hear about anyone getting stoned and driving their car at 100 mph. I remember stopping at green lights, waiting at a stop sign for it to change to green and struggling to maintain 35 mph on I-95.

Did you ever stop at a red light or stop sign and veg out and you weren't sure how long you were sitting there? It was probably only a few seconds, but at times I thought it could have been for several minutes. Usually someone blowing the horn behind me snapped me back to reality. Until the next light. Time really slowed down, didn't it?

I drove on two hits of Orange Sunshine one time and that was way over the top. By the time it kicked in I ended up pulling over, walking to a bar and having the bartender call a buddy of mine to come get me. I didn't come back down until hours later but I can still remember all the lights including the streetlights blending together. I was tripping hard that time.

It's decriminalized in Alaska NOT legal for recreational use like Washington & Colorado.

All I know is that people here grow it and smoke it and if and when the cops have to enter a residence for any reason all they do is ask how many adults live in the household and then count the plants. Iv'e lived up here since 1982 and unless it was a big time growing operation I don't know of anyone who ever got busted for growing and smoking weed in their own residence.

I know several people who have medical marijuana licences here in CA for nominally spurious reasons. But they never smoke and drive, never decide after a big bong rip they need to go start funny business. Mostly somebody says, "Heyyyyy, let's watch 'Dazed and Confused'" on Netflix and then they pass out.

PS: edibles can be awesome. Especially when they're made into high-quality single-estate chocolate truffles. Just saying.

Edit: poor use of quotation marks. :( I blame the microbrews!

It passed in Washington and Colorado but failed to pass in Oregon by nearly 135,000 votes.

Yesterday I saw many friends and family refer to it in jokes online.

Such as "So that's what John Denver was singing about in Rocky Mountain High."

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwARpaKHx_w

And, "Breaking News ***Frito Lays Stock Sores!***

Also, "Breaking News ***Concerts at The Gorge Concert Venue have sold out for the next 20 years.***

People were having a field day with it.

The Gov. of Colorado said, "Don't break out the Cheetos yet. It's still against Federal law."
