Congrats Paula & Anthony!!!!!

I still have nothing. I called today and the agent admitted even my Service Request is now outside of normal processing times, it should have been responded to within 30 days (it's been 35). so she submitted a SECOND one, noting that i've heard nothing. she sounded on my side but i'm not naive enough to think that makes a difference... she said new orleans office is working on january 13 applications, and i'm a november 12 filer... ridiculous. i'm finding this really stressful now :(

Actually it could be a good thing for you - NOLA office is "on schedule", processing January 13 applications. I'm pretty sure my case is still at National Benefits Center, the delay appears to be in it being sent to the field office rather than at the office itself. But who the hell knows! Where abouts in nola are you?

As a New Orleaner, that makes me nervous!

Aaaaaaaand today I got the letter saying my case has been identified as a potential interview waiver case but that "due to workload factors not related to your case... we anticipate the delay to be approximately 6 months from the date of this letter".

Most hilarious of all, the final line "I sincerely regret any inconvenience caused by this situation (you mean, waiting potentially 16 months for my green card when others got theres in 3 months?), and appreciate your patience as we work diligently to provide the level of service you should expect". Hahahahahahaha. Good one guys.

Feeling very unlucky today :((((

Called to get a service request on 7/22/13 due to our case being outside normal processing times - received a response on 8/5/2013 saying the file is in transit to our local district office. Called the next day to talk to a Tier 2 officer and was advised to make an Infopass appointment at the district office. For some reason our K-1 package was mailed back to us in Dec 2012. On 8/21/13 we went to our appointment with our K-1 paperwork. The immigration officer told us they were missing the K-1 and couldn't process until the file was "complete." She conducted an informal interview at that time, made copies of our state ID cards, heath insurance, and joint credit cards as evidence and said that she still needed the "T-1" file from the National Benefits Center before an approval could be made. She made the request for the file and that it would take at 2 to 6 weeks. When I checked the status this afternoon, there was no update so I called again and was able to request another service request since it had been over a month from the last service request response. About two hours later:

Card/ Document Production

On September 6, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application.

And today, I get this:

Decision

On September 9, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.
