Congratulations AppleGrapple!

I just received a letter from the USCIS today regarding my service request as my husbands application is outside normal processing time and it stated: "Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided."

Has anyone received something like this? Are they serious about calling them after 6 mos if we don't hear anything from them? My husband's EAD and everything else will expire by then... and then what? start all over again? So frustrating! During my calls to the service center, they said that they see nothing wrong w/our application otherwise we would've heard from them already. I keep reiterating that i just want to make sure they don't need anything from us or if they do that they would advise us soon so we can work on it sooner rather than later. Is it possible to get an RFE after 9mos of the i485 being in an "acceptance" status?

We filed an e-request since we are past the 6 month timeline. Now today a letter saying to give them another 6 months to reply! What a joke.

I just received the same letter! have you heard anything since then?

The answer from SCOPSSCATA@uscis.dhs.gov : " I am sorry, I can’t help you. They gave you incorrect information. This is Service Center Operations. We do not process MSC/NBC cases. Those cases are processed in the Field. I will forward your email to them for response."

I don't know what to do know...to wait few more days and to call them again....or to wait maybe 21 days....????

Any ideas???

I swear this is all messed up!!!!

Try calling them again - you've got nothing to lose. I called again today before i received the letter and less than a week ago from my last call and apparently service requests can only be done every month... Is that really the truth? who knows. Every time i call, i seem to get a little bit more info than my last call but doesn't necessary help my case either.

I am sorry to hear that! You probably should go ahead and do the paperwork to renew your husband's EAD/AP card. You don't have to pay again-- just send in the forms. You should apply for the renewal 90 days before the current one's expiration. Good luck!

For the record, I'm noticing a strong correlation between people requested information after their case is past the due time and then receiving card production emails, as if they prioritise those if there is a chase on them. If you haven't yet prodded to see where your case is I suggest you do!

I can see there are some cases that are unfortunately still stuck in the system though. Good Luck to those still waiting!

Fingers crossed you'll hear something within the next week. From my service request I got an email telling me the field office that had my case, days later it was approved.

Stick with it Kitty, almost there!

FRUSTRATED!!! Sorry to all in advance for venting but how is it that some of this year's applicants are getting approved before last year's applicants?! Seems so unfair - I mean, happy for them but soooo frustrating for me. Calling USCIS does not help either because they rally have no answer they can give you!!! I called again today just so i can kind of vent and the person i spoke to said maybe there's more to review on my case thats why it's taking longer! aaaahhhh. i so wish that if there is a problem they would tell you sooner than later so you can act on it and fix it if ever... he said call back if you don't hear anything in 6 months!? SERIOUSLY!?!??????!!!! ranting33va.gif We're now going into our 9th month of waiting......

Also - person i spoke to recommended getting an infopass... is it even worth it!?

I called this morning to USCIS and wanted to speak with Level 2 Officer. Lavel 1 Officer collected some information for my case and connected me with Level 2 Officer. All Level 2 Officers were busy....and waiting time was 30 minutes....so system offer me that they call me back. 2nd level officer called me back after 30 minutes. She collected again some information and wrote reference, gave me number and told me that response time it August 20, 2013. ClockWatch2.gifClockWatch2.gif

So... we will see...

Yes, after a long wait I finally received a green card. No interview either!

Came here on K1 visa and received a green card that expires in 10 years. Expiration date is 07/2023. I thought that first greencard would only be good for 2 years?!

Did anyone else receive a permanent resident card that expires in 10 years??
