Got my letter with the interview details today.. Lots of stuff to bring but besides one question it should be good. Yay!

Just out of curiosity what are they requesting exactly?

It's actually quite a big list of stuff to bring. I was surprised -- I didn't expect to have to prepare for this like I did for the K-1 interview, but I guess so after all.

Basically, bring everything you had for the K-1 interview, a copy of your AOS package, plus your marriage documents and evidence of relationship/financial co-mingling.

3 things I was surprised by were -- letter from the petitioner/sponsor's employer, stating current rate of pay and avg weekly hours; the petitioner's birth certificate/evidence of citizenship/LPR status; and custody documentation for my kids.

Thankfully, my interview is still a couple of weeks away, so I have some time to pull everything together.

anyone else still waiting for their biometrics? This is so annoying knowing that most of you are in the interview stage and I still haven't received my appointment.. any suggestions guys? I rang over a week ago after I passed 30 days mark and they sent me a letter saying I am within the processing time. Well I know I am within processing time for I 485 but my appointment letter should arrive within 30 days am I wrong?

I'm still waiting for mine!! Its ridiculous, people that submitted applications after me have had theirs and are now onto the next stage. I called before Christmas and they put in a "request" for an update, and said to wait 15 days. I'm guessing they had a big break over Christmas so I'm sure those 15 days don't count over the holidays. I've heard nothing since our NOAs. Frustrating to say the least, I really want our AP cards to come through as the kids want to visit their Dad, plus I've had medical issues arise resulting in the need for surgery...really could do without the stress right now!

I got my EAD even Before I140 got approved. Still it is in initial Review stage.

Is there anyone in a similar Situation?

Has anyone who has AOS from work (employment) got Interview dates?

Time line

Oct 2009- got Married

June 2010- POE Newark H1B

July 2012 Perm applied

Sep 2012 Perm approved

Oct 2012 Medical evaluation with Civil Surgeon. TB skin test & Blood test cleared.

Nov – 6 2012 My attorney submitted I 140 & I 485 for me and 485 for my wife

Nov - 8 2012 Texas Center received the application

Nov - 14 2012 NOA sent

Nov - 19 2012 NOA for AOS , AP, EAD received for me and my wife

Nov - 21 2012 Biometric appointment notice received (appointmnet Date Dec-12-2012)

Dec - 01 2012 Got a text and email that my AP and EAD are approved and Card in production

Dec - 03 2012 Another text and email that my AP and EAD are approved and Card in production

Dec - 05 2012 (6 am) Got a text that they have mailed my card to the address on my file

Dec - 05 2012 (6 pm) Got a text that USPS has picked up my card and will be delivered in 7 days

Dec - 06 2012 (3 am) Got a Text and email that my Case is approved an notice has been Mailed

Dec - 07 2012 Got my EAD card in Mail

Dec - 12 2012 to Jan-03-2012 India Trip

You should check the Visa Bulletin for waiting times for AOS for Employment depending on which track you have been filed in. If I'm not mistaken, your employer can file you either the fast track (waiting time 1 year) or then the other track (which can take a very long time). Do you know what category you got filed in?

There's another AOS forum related to employment on VJ - I think that may be a more suitable forum for you because this one is family based AOS.

Hey, I got my Biometrics appointment rescheduled the same days like your and I did it December 26 after the Christmas holidays. I was wondering when did your status change for the EAD and have you already received your interview letter. I am adjusting from J1 not from K1 so I hope my EAD will be approved some time this week I applied for super nice job and they said I am hired as soon as I get the card. I don't know how long they will wait for me though... Definitely not 2 or 3 weeks!!!

Aww, I know that sucks to be in limbo with a job already lined up, while waiting on the leisure of USCIS. Your ead is on the way,sending all positivity your way.

I checked the online system over the weekend and notice the approval for the ead. Yes got my interview letter on the 8th in the mail. It is scheduled for February 7 Happy but a little nervous.

Hey congratulations!!! I'm so very happy for you! Looks like we have a similar timeline & also both adjusting from F1. Hopefully they get to my EAD/ AP soon!!!!

Man I really need a job. Anyone else expecting (or I should say hoping for) ead by the end of the week?

According to the timeline here my EAD will be approved by the end of the month, but it doesn't mean that I don't need it sooner! I have a job waiting for me and I really need this card till the end of the next week! I hope it will be here by then or at least will be approved!
