looks like everyone is making some progress except for me... I am still waiting for my biometrics letter :( I rang them when I hit 30 days and got a letter on Saturday (sent to me that same day I rang so they email the request for me)saying that I am still within the processing time... I see no reason for me not getting the appointment yet. I was surprised to get a letter that quickly though, looks like they are trying hard now...the waiting continuous for me :(

I am still waiting for my biometrics letter too!! Everyone that applied when I did has had theirs, I called after the 30 day mark and they put in a request for more info.....still waiting...

Has anyone seen this? Implementation of New USCIS Immigrant Fee Feb. 1

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=ad70f58f7529b310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=68439c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

It looks like this fee will apply to us because we most likely are to receive our LPR card after Feb 1.

Who Needs to Pay the Fee

"Any individual who on or after February 1, 2013 receives an immigrant visa package from a United States consulate or embassy abroad (including Canada and Mexico) will pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee." .....

This what I found and I don't think it applies to us! I hope not!

My case status also changed yesterday to "Testing and interview" and now have to wait for the interview notice in the mail. We have some friends in our area with the same cases and they all had their fingerprint appointments in New Orleans and the interviews in Atlanta. I am pretty sure that ours will be in Atlanta as well. No clue if Atlanta is National Benefits Center or just local office. I am happy something is moving though ...

Congrats to all of you for the updates and wish you luck with the interviews!

:)

Checked my I-485 status just now and it shows 'Testing and Interview'. Exactly a week after I went in for my biometrics appointment. So I think I should be receiving my interview appointment within the next couple of weeks. Haven't received any RFEs yet.

From my understanding, if your I-485 status shows 'Testing and Interview' and USCIS is scheduling interview, then there will be no RFEs.

Guys that's awesome! My i485 is still response review over a request for evidence, I'm hoping I get a testing scheduled notification really soon; I check my email way more than I'd like to admit

Our case probably is different from most of yours, in that AOS filing was based on the approved I-130. I assume that USCIS will still ask our marriage during interview. However I don't expect that they will go through I-130 and ask questions since I-130 was already approved in 2011. Is it correct?

Thank you all and wish you best luck in AOS process!

They will schedule interview only if everything is absolutely fine with your case. All the RFEs will be mailed before the interview notice and even if they get lost in the mail you will see the request in your case status not "Testing and interview".

Thanks guys for reading about the fee. For some reason I did not get that it was only for people applying from outside the US.

Happy for all the people getting updates. For those who are still waiting, I hope it is just a short nuisance.
