Hello,

My K1 petition was approved on October 29th. However, the notice of action I received said that my petition was forwarded the U.S. Consulate. I'm totally confused? Isn't it supposed to go to the NVC then the US Consulate? Someone please let me know because when I call NVC they are telling me to contact the US Embassy in Kingston. How can I when the NVC has to assign a different case number?

When K1 NOA2 is approved it's forwarded to the NVC where it will stay for 2-6 weeks and then is forwarded to your embassy. While at the NVC you can call them for the new case number and updates at 1-603-334-0700 Good Luck :)

It says this on the NOA2, yes. However, it passes through the NVC briefly, case number assigned, forwarded to the appropriate consulate, and the petitioner receives a letter from NVC with the case number and consulate stated. What are you asking when you call NVC? I just asked them for the case number, when the petition was received, and when it was sent to the consulate. They provided me with all of that information.
