And some people are having a hard time remembering who built this country and what made it the once great country it used to be. If you think things are better now than they were 30 years ago then think again. Rome was once great and we all know why and how that one came to end.

Great countries evolve. Sorry you're not on board with that. You're welcome to leave. :)

Evolved in what direction? The crime rate has evolved over the past 50 years to epic proportions along with welfare. The same goes for single parent families and suicide.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

There's nothing I can say that will make you believe anything other than what you believe. Have fun in your bubble.

Let's pretend that we are actually talking facts here. Not fairy tale idea's, but actual facts back up by actual statistics. Let's pretend that we want to cut down on single parent families, crime, and welfare.

I won't pretend I want to cut down on single parent families. I don't want to cut down on any families where children are properly taken care of and loved. Whether it's by one man, one woman, a man and a woman, a man and another man, or a woman and another woman. They're all perfectly capable of raising healthy, happy children.

But again. Enjoy the bubble. The rest of us on the outside will move on with our lives. Good day!

Some people are having a hard time realizing their own country is leaving them in the dust. The majority of us are able to live and let live, and accept that a nation is evolving and that not everybody is so close minded or ignorant as they are. So when things like Tuesday happen, and people vote in FAVOR of same sex marriage, it completely ruins the little bubble they live in. It'll take them awhile to recover. At least Tuesday taught us that these people ARE the minority now. And luckily their misguided opinions don't matter to anyone but themselves.

Actually I am in favor of Gay marriage and I am Pro choice. What I have a problem with is funding the Dust my country is leaving me in.

ok, i'll bite. link me to your 'actual facts' backed up by 'actual statistics' which show the crime rate has increased to 'epic proportions.' if you can't find any 'actual facts' backed up by 'actual statistics,' then 'facts' backed up by 'statistics' will do just fine.

Chicago Homicides Outnumber U.S. Troop Killings In Afghanistan

The war zone-like statistics are not new. As WBEZ reports, while some 2,000 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan since 2001, more than 5,000 people have been killed by gun fire in Chicago during that time, based on Department of Defense and FBI data.

The article posted does not compare that rate with rates in the past, it posts a raw number and compares that to Afghanistan.

The issue brought up is a rate, not a raw number, hmm? Or even comparing raw numbers to previous raw numbers would be useful.

It's sad when people so often don't understand statistics.

since you're big on facts, i'm certain you wouldn't mind linking me to your sources which show how many of the 'original caucasian inhabitants' were still alive and building this country in 1750, or 1840, or 1920.
