I don't know about Messiah, but he still has his chairmanship in Congress for at least a couple more years, and he now controls Obama's fate for the next few months, if not years.

Paul Ryan will return to House, plans to continue as Budget Committee chairman

Which was my point from the onset when I said that he is already in office and can do everything he is paid by We ThenPeople to do. Apparently the other poster was under the incorrect notion that Ryan could only serve his country in the office of the VP.

We agree on this one!!!!!

You should have been here for the eight years when W ruled the Earth. We ARE already paying the ultimate price...

I've been here. The next crisis will be worse than the previous one. 2008 will seem like a walk in the park. This is what happens when you paper over the problems and rack up even more debt in the name of (illusory) "growth" and pain avoidance and hope the next guy solves the problems that are already unsolvable.

He has no political clout. His ideas lost. Pretending that he should even be taken seriously is ignoring the will of the American voter.

 Half the American people decided they didn't want Obama. The other half decided they didn't want Romney. Where is the mandate in that? Every member of the House was up for election this year, and the Republicans are still in charge of the People's House.

What should be the plan for the $16.2 Trillion and growing debt?

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

He draws his mandate from over 300 EC votes and by the majority of the popular vote. It is the American way. You need not like it and you are free to voice your discontentment. You are only required to abide by it.

Obama is W 2.0. An even bigger government, and double the debt in 8 years (may be even 7 - it went from 5 to 10 trillion during the Bush years; we'll be at 20 in 3 years.)

How can he double the deficit when Ryan is in charge of the budget committee? Should Ryan not get to work for We The Paople who elected him?

Of course it is. Most Americans are up to their eyeballs in debt. Burying heads in the sand and praying for the best is the new American way.

Double the DEBT, not the deficit.

As in "spend the same amount as ALL the previous presidents before him combined".

Bush did that in 8 years.

Obama will double it in 7 (including whatever Bush spent).

Under that scenario it would be naive at best to believe Mittens could have helped any.

Actually, more than half the voters wanted Obama and less than half the voters wanted Rmoney. That's why the latter lost and the former won. They both ran on a vision for the country. Rmoney's vision lost, Obama's vision won. No trickle down, voo-doo economics. America rejected it. Clearly.
