My wife had her biometrics done today December 20,2006.. Our original schedule was for December 14, 2006, but the letter got lost under a bunch of junk mail. Thank God, I searched through the junk mail and found the biometric appointment letter. I would have been DEAD!!

When I received my NOA and Biometrics Notice, the name is address to my Maiden Name instead of my Married Name. We made an appointment to our local office and talked to the INS Officer, that they should address to my married name. The officer send an electronic letter to NSC to update my status. I wrote a letter to them also to change or update my status.

Now, I received another Receipt Notice (NOA2), finally its address to my Married Name, and they said I have to wait for my Biometrics Notice, and this is my second Biometrics Notice.

I already had my biometrics done on December 14, 2006 which was address to my Maiden Name. For the second time for my Married Name.

December 18, 2006- Talked to the INS Officer to update my status.....

December 26, 2006- Received the corrected NOA

Here's my Timeline I-751

11/06/2006 - mailed I-751 NSC Priority Mail

11/08/2006 - NSC received the I-751

11/10/2006 - checked was cashed

12/02/2006 - received the NOA1 Receipt Notice-address to my maiden name

12/09/2006 - received the NOA2 Biometrics Appointment Notice-address to my maiden name

12/14/2006-Biometrics Appointment Date

12/18/2006-talked to the INS Officer to update my status

12/26/2006-received the corrected NOA-address to my Married Name

Sent my I-751 to VSC on Dec. 5th and it was received Dec. 7th. (according to "return receipt" from USPS)

I sent a check for only 205$ because as far as I knew there was no fee change at that time.

Check has not been cashed yet (that has me a bit concerned...) and have not received a NOA.

First biometrics appt came in the mail in early Dec. Interview was to be Dec 28, but was to be away in Florida!! So sent off the request as directed for a new date. That came today, and new Biometrics appt is for Jan 11 2007 at 1100.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My money order for $275 was ACCEPTED.

I got a letter from USCIS today. I was hoping it was an NOA. It was a "Individual Fee Register Receipt". It is a carbon copy receipt like you would get at a diner. It has our EAC #, Name, Date, ETC. All handwritten.

So, my timeline:

12/21 - Mailed Overnight

12/22 - Recieved

12/26 - Individual Fee Register Receipt issued

1/2 - Individual Fee Register Receipt mailed

1/4 - Individual Fee Register Receipt received

I think we may have my wife start working next week. I mean, we have proof we filed, our check is cashed, and I have ann EAC #. Weare perfectly legal at this point even though the GC is expired.

Timeline I-751 (Removal of conditions):

12/21/2006 - Sent to Vermont Service Center UPS Early AM Overnight

12/22/2006 - Reached Vermont Service Center

12/26/2006 - USPS Money Order cashed ($275.00)

02/05/2007 - NOA Received

02/05/2007 - Biometrics Appointment Received

02/15/2007 - Biometrics Appointment

Here is the interesting one..

Nebraska Serv. Center

12/9/06 - mailed out I-751 package

12/12/06 - they received the package

1/3/07 - we received our package back with the letter basically saying that I was erroneously admitted/adjusted as a conditional permanent resident, when I should've been admitted/adjusted as a permanent resident without conditions. Thus, I should file a form I-90 with application reason: my card was issued with incorrect info because of a USCIS administrative error.

1/6/07 - mailed out I-90 packaged to Missouri Serv. Center where I got my Green card

1/10/07 - they received the package

Anyone has the same problem??? Are they going to send me the correct card (10 year card) or am I going to receive the the biometric appointment and other stuff as if I am doing the I-751?

Thanks.

If I were you, I wouldn't wait until Missouri sends something back. I would get an Infopass appointment right away.
