NVC Time-line question

Our case has reached NVC.

About 2-3 weeks ago, my wife (petitioner) received an e-mail notification and an instructions how to pay I-864 bill (I believe $88 dollars or so). She payed it the next day.

In that e-mail she also received an copy of what was sent to me by post.

A few days later she found out by logging-in in our account on NVC site that the payment was received.

Since than nothing else was sent to her...

About 10 days later I received a letter containing DS-3032 "Choice of Agent" form which I completed and sent back the next day.

In the meantime, I looked at the timelines of some members and found out that none of them has any date-stamp for "Receive I-864 Package : ". It's always empty?!

The preceding action "Pay I-864 Bill" and succeeding action "Return Completed I-864" always have date but not the one we're waiting for.

Can somebody please explain what's all that about?

Will my wife receive that I-864 package or not? Should she fill that and send without waiting for something or not?

Many thanks!

in about 3 months from paying, she'll receive a package on the i-864, via postal mail.

Most VJ members want speed, instead - so they download the I-864 form , read the instructions, prep all, send off all with the AOS Coversheet as soon as the AOS fee bill is marked 'PAID' in the NVC payment portal.

Thank you for your answer.

So, it means we should send I-864 without delay.

I have also read the guide from that link you provided, and saw that it's recommended there that I (beneficiary) choose my wife (petitioner) in US as my agent when filling a DS-2032 form.

I've already designed myself with the address here in Austria.

Would that be a problem or would that cause delays significantly?

if you are the agent of choice, then it doesn't really mean anything when sending in the IV set. You could send it, yer spouse could send it - it just doesn't matter.

Just remind yer spouse to pay the IV fee when it shows up in the NVC payment portal.

Ok, it's all clear now.

We were following VJ-guide in the "Guides" section, but they are not so detailed as the one on Wiki that Darnell posted out, and the one even more detailed that is linked inside that article, namely:

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_bring_your_foreign_spouse_to_live_in_the_US

I really have no idea why I haven't checked that Wiki-pages before.

Thanks again!

ya, the Wiki Rocks.

Take a look at LingChe in the wiki, as well .

The cool thing I like about the Wiki - is that we can edit it to reflect current or updated information.

Good luck! Send your I-864 packet right away, they accepted the $88 fee, so they're ready to review your Affidavit of Support evidence.
