we are also going through Mumbai... my fiance got apporoved and they wanted one other doc, so he got the doc and turned everything in with the g221... then they called him and said they wanted something else so they will mail his passport back to him... with a new g221 form... the new g221 form was for someone else not him but thank god the passport was his.. we had to call our senators office and they had to get us the right g221 form.... i would call your senators office and ask them if they can speed up the visa.. this can work real good for you.... good luck... just call the senators office and ask for the immigration department... good luck

Hi i am in the same boat. I had to submit a new joint sponsor, with my passport and 221 g. i did this on October 9th 2012. I get the same response "it is the sole discretion of the embassy to return your passport. I talked to some lady at DOS and she said it usually takes 60 days after submission of documents, but every case is different. Hope to hear something soon.

have you heard anything yet from them, i called VFs today and they said that to wait as documents will have to go to the USA first and then back to India, they said it shows that documents are at post (dont know what that means)

I also had to submit i 864, now been over 60 days from submission.

My wife's interview was on Sept. 25, 2012 when she was given a 221g to submit more photos of ongoing relationship. She submitted all the requested evidence on Oct. 9, 2012 and I still waiting for approval from mumbai consulate. Hopefully she gets approved this month. I pay to god everyday to make it happen. I hope your situation gets resolved as well

Stay well and be positive

Does the process speed up once u involve the Senator? IF yes then can u let me know where and how I can contact him? Or can he atleast follow up on the case and get us some answers instead of the usual..'no time frame'

don't think it will speed up anything, its just another way to know status, senators take own time to respond and don't think they will do any thing special for common people like us. :help:
