Hello Vjyers, yesterday i posted my experience at SLEC about the Medical exam and Today i just had my CFO Pre departure seminar and one-on-one counseling

We arrived at the location of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas

take note that there is ONLY ONE VENUE/ADDRESS for both Pre-departure and Counseling

and that is at

Citigold Center

Pres. Quirino Ave. cor South Superhighway (just look for the orange building there)

again IT IS THE ONLY VENUE IN MANILA

see to it you have the following requirements:

1. Original and Photocopy of Passport

2. Original and Photocopy of Visa (if you already have it, but if not its still ok)

3. 1 pc of 2x2 or passport size photograph

4. 1 valid identification card with photo

5. Duly completed form (downloadable at www.cfo.gov.ph)

6. Payment of 400 Pesos

7. Photocopy of 2 valid ID's

You may also want to bring supporting Docs if ever the counselor will ask for it (although mine didnt)

CENOMAR

PHOTOCOPY OF PETITIONERS PASSPORT

NBI CLEARANCE

Birth Certificate

(its better to be prepared than be sorry)

I arrived there at 7 in the morning hoping i could get a morning session since it will start at 9am

but sadly the line was already very long take note that they have limited slots per day

MWF 15 slots 9-12AM and 15 slots 2-5PM

TTh 30 slot for MORNING ONLY 9-12

so i got an afternoon session (BIG SIGH!)the person who checked the requirements asked for a valid ID and dont be alarmed if they will keep it they will give it back to you upon leaving after the seminar and everything. So i asked him if i will just come back in the afternoon but he said registration will start at 9:30 am, so in my head thats a No and i needed to stay or i wont be registered, from 8-9:30 we were at the basement (because they told us to stay there while waiting for the registration to start) 9:30 the guard asked the people with the red ID to fall inline then counted by 12 to use the elevator (registration is at the top most floor of the building which can be counted as the 9th floor) we were asked to fill up the form and we had another line again and one by one we went to the registration area where they will verify your requirements and picture taking for the certificate and after that we were just told to come back at 1:30 in the afternoon

so my looong wait started from 10:00 am to 1:30pm we waited until its time to go back to the 9th floor where the room for the US bound is (dont forget to wear the ID that was provided because it will serve as your passes)

when we were already inside the room a video was played on the screen about the brief story of the lives of the Filipinos abroad and at 1:45 the guidance counselor arrived and so we started

we had the Pre-departure seminar, sharing of stories after then we had the one-on-one counseling where we were just asked for very few questions and after that they forwarded the papers to the cashier at the Ground floor where we will wait for our names to be called at the cashier to pay P400 then you will be given a receipt, you need to keep it as you will be asked to sit down again and wait for your name to be called for the certificate and your passport (this if you already have the visa) and you are good to go!

if you dont have your visa yet, you will be given the receipt and the certificate BUT YOU HAVE TO GO BACK AT THE EXACT OFFICE BY THE TIME YOU ALREADY HAVE THE VISA. no more other fees aside from the P400 you just have to come back to get your sticker and they will collect all the necessary requirements (listed above) also NEVER LOSE YOUR RECEIPT AND CERTIFICATE if you do, you will have to pay double which is P800 or worse redo the seminar itself so better keep it.

after that go back to the reception desk give back your ID so you can get the ID you left there that morning :)

the seminar went well and i should say i enjoyed it a lot and met a lot of new friends.

Hope this will help the other members who will be attending the CFO seminar soon :)
