I'm looking back at the comment I made in May "three months to go!" lol Now that it's been six months since that comment,I'm less than three weeks away from Shawn's embassy appointment and I feel overjoyed and blessed. I'm feeling stronger now that I have survived the longest 5 months<--- yea right, ever. To anyone who is starting, going through, or have completed their visa journey, I just want to say that I know this is the most emotionally, frustrating experience for you and your loved ones. At the same time it is the most rewarding because with every step it gives you more faith, more hope, and the most incredible dreams for the future. Just wanted to share as I start to prepare for my trip to see the love of my life (L) , I'm feeling a bit rewarded to be able to take another step towards our plans for the future. Understand hard work pays off and this journey so far has been worth all the sacrifice in the world. Thanks for letting me share (F) - VJ Family!

Oh yea I have a question...

Shawn goes for his medical on Monday..knowing it's different depending on the person. Does anyone have an estimate of the most he could be asked to pay?

I saw our profile pop up in "upcoming interviews" today and I'm looking back at the comment I made back in May "three months to go!" lol Now that it's been six months since that comment,We are less than three weeks away from Shawn's embassy appointment and I feel overjoyed and blessed. At the same time it is the most rewarding because with every step it gives you more faith, more hope, and the most incredible dreams for the future. Remember for some of us we are getting a chance to be with our fiance as they go through the longest part of naturalization process, and for others it is a long overdue reunion. Ditto Shelly . . . I could not have said it any better . . . Although this journey has had its ups and downs, peaks and valleys (such as life) I can clearly say that it has and continues to be a learning experience about myself as well as my future hubby. To be persistance, keep the faith, enduring the loneliness . . . and still trying to envision the future . . in a positive light.

My man's medical examination is also Monday I too would like to know what his total cost would be . . he has had no vaccinations todate and is 37 years old.

Everyone, please stay convicted in your beliefs and strong in your efforts and soon your love one will be with you. Thank you VJ Family.

I can't remember the exact amount, but it was about 21,500 JMD and that is with 3 injections.

Hello!!!! My hubby had his medical 3 weeks ago and he paid 9,900 for the meical and he only needed one vaccine and that was 3,300. He did have a copy of his vaccination forms from childhood. My suggestion is bring at least 20,0000 so that you will have more than enough. Congratulations to you all that have interviews coming up. My hubby's interview is this Friday at 8am. I wish I could be there but I will be in the hospital with celebrating the birth of our new baby that is scheduld for C-section tomorrow. God bless you all!!!

he has to take the 110 USD for the overall medical. that is the cost @ Hope in Mobay. After that, he will have to pay for any shots he will have to get. If he dont have any immunization record, he NEED to walk with an additional 20000 JMD. good luck

The journey was really frustrating and depressing at times but we are thankful for the light at the end of the tunnel.

The fees will definately depend on the shots and good approximate figures were posted by others. It would also be good if he calls and asks so that he can be prepared for anything. The good thing is if he does not have it all with him they will allow him to bring it at another time.

I hate to walk around with a lot of cash so I was happy that Andrews said they accepted payment by credit and debit cards.

Depending on where he goes, I know the overall medical is $90-$110 U.S. The shots he is required to have are : Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Haemophilus influenzae Type B, Rotavirus, Hepatitis A&B, Meningococcal Disease, Varicella, Pneumococcal, and Influenza. So whatever he doesn't have from this list he will have to pay for. Last year he needed three shots and we paid about $250 all together.
