The doom and gloom wishers came out 4 years ago and now again we have the same doom and gloom stories. Come on people, I cant stand the suspense .... tell me when the world is going to end?

Since you asked, I heard it's December 21, 2012.

That's a very pessimistic view of this great country and our resiliency as a nation to rise up to the challenges we face today. The ideological divisiveness that was amplified during this election cycle should not make us sad or pessimistic. Democracy is messy. We owe it to ourselves and each other to work together towards solutions rather than merely cursing the darkness. You can't have everything you want, but you can be part of bigger ideas and solutions. The only real danger is when some of us think they are the only ones on the good side - the only ones who care about this country. That stupid sh!t needs to stop. God doesn't approve such brotherly discontent and animosity.

True, it might be pessimistic of me, but I am just calling it as I see it. I'm actually a very hopeful person and have been for most of my life. I don't expect that to change. The state of affairs will have no effect on who I am either way. I agree with all the points you are making here, but don't get me wrong. I am not wishing to have everything, nor am I a part of "gimme gimme!" crowd. I have all I need and make my own way for it. Going back to your points, yes, I agree with your attitude. Part of the reason I think the country is in sad shape is due to the constant bickering and division that hinders us from accomplishments and moving forward.
