Your logic is way off. He would have easily won even without Ohio.

No. My logic was pointing to the contrary of what someone else declared. Your accusation is blanket and nothing else.

No America is saved. We didn't vote for Romney.

I agreed with the OP that it is a sad day for America. America is in sad shape and not just today. I didn't even say anything in particular about either candidate. If I had, I would be making a judgment on their ability to lead the country, not the heart of their being, which is the point of a vote. Either way, I didn't curse a thing.

so you would have us believe that it's just a coincidence you happen to be posting on election day?

Believe what you will. I wouldn't have you believe otherwise. I meant what I said regarding the sad state of the country. Yes, the election day is a turning point. Still, it doesn't change the fact. If you or anyone else cares to read anything else into what I say, that is none of my concern. It could be your birthday for all I care. Doesn't change the fact that America is in sad shape.

That's a very pessimistic view of this great country and our resiliency as a nation to rise up to the challenges we face today. The ideological divisiveness that was amplified during this election cycle should not make us sad or pessimistic. Democracy is messy. We owe it to ourselves and each other to work together towards solutions rather than merely cursing the darkness. You can't have everything you want, but you can be part of bigger ideas and solutions. The only real danger is when some of us think they are the only ones on the good side - the only ones who care about this country. That stupid sh!t needs to stop. God doesn't approve such brotherly discontent and animosity.

Yes, but we live in a new society today. The "its all about me and what I want" society. That thinking is quite strong in Congress and thats why nothing gets done. Lets hope they all grow up and play well together.

Ayn Randian philosophy has poisoned the well, but as Obama pointed out, some people just never outgrow juvenile ideation. There's also great irony in a large sect of fundamental christians who happen to uphold a political ideology that is the antithesis of everything Jesus stood for.

Rolling Stone: Have you ever read Ayn Rand?

President Obama: Sure.

Rolling Stone: What do you think Paul Ryan's obsession with her work would mean if he were vice president?

President Obama: Well, you'd have to ask Paul Ryan what that means to him. Ayn Rand is one of those things that a lot of us, when we were 17 or 18 and feeling misunderstood, we'd pick up. Then, as we get older, we realize that a world in which we're only thinking about ourselves and not thinking about anybody else, in which we're considering the entire project of developing ourselves as more important than our relationships to other people and making sure that everybody else has opportunity -– that that's a pretty narrow vision. It's not one that, I think, describes what's best in America. Unfortunately, it does seem as if sometimes that vision of a 'you're on your own' society has consumed a big chunk of the Republican Party.

The Calvinist in me sides with the OP in the sense that God wanted President Obama in office, and I believe Obama will bring glory to Him one way or another.

I just refuse to mope around about it.

Whether God wants to judge the nation by him or bless the nation by him. That's His decision. God indeed has spoken, but I won't presume that He favors the president just because he's the president. Nor will I presume that He is going to judge the nation just because a democrat is in office.

Sometimes he promotes certain leaders in order to help destroy a nation. But I'm not presuming Obama is a leader that will destroy the nation either, nor that the wheels are in motion for our destruction. Sometimes destruction takes time (Roman Empire) and sometimes it happen swiftly. But sometimes God changes the hearts of men.

I do know that God does what he pleases, and it pleased him to make Obama president for another 4 years.

I'm just happy to be free right now. I hope Democrats and Republicans can work together for a better future, instead of playing games with each other and getting nothing accomplished. I'm just sick of accomplishing nothing. If we're going to go somewhere in this nation, we need to start going already.

I'll continue to "fight the good fight" by standing up for what I believe in; but I'm not going to let an election get me down. Elections have been a means to prosperity in America. Even if the nation chooses someone I don't agree would have been the best man for the job, I can still work together with, can still pray for, and can still show the love of Christ for those who wouldn't agree with me.

Maybe one day God will turn our hearts back to Him. In the meantime I intend to keep serving my Lord Jesus Christ.

There's also spiritual blindness by those who regard themselves as righteous. Maybe one day, they'll have a moment of enlightenment the way John Newton came to his spiritual awareness.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see.

John Newton was a great Calvinist. Worked against the slave trade.

And you know what? I agree with you. The blind often lead the blind.
