How do we discern God's will except that He loves us all and wants what is best for us. Obama is a blessing from God and we shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Rejoice and be happy not sad.

Why? because you don't agree? I think everyone that enters into any political thinking brings their own personal convictions to the table. OP has a right to do the same and started a thread to voice a concern. The OP is actually thinking outside the box as he/she is aware that God is bigger than any one country's politics. You are going to have politicians bringing their religious beliefs with them into office as they have done, and telling them to do otherwise isn't going to change a thing.

He does want what is best for us. The world is fallen and can't have was is best for us without Him. Obama is no more of a blessing than you and me. He is a man. A man given a greater task than most, but still a man nonetheless. I would not have rejoiced with either direction of this election. That is the sad part. I wish it wasn't so, but I am really conflicted with the direction of our country. I haven't felt that we have had any great leadership for at least 8 years now.

It's simple. I believe that your God and your convictions belong in your spiritual circle and yuor family unit. I don't believe it belongs in the polling place or in the seats of government.

Value and ideals are not the same as a religious connection. You can have fine values and high ideals and be of any faith.

You made some judgment of both candidates by agreeing with the OP, who expressed his disappointment with the election results and considering it a sad day for America. Putting that in a religious context as the OP did, I'm saying if God wanted Romney to win. he would have. We shouldn't be sad. Rejoice.
