Hi. My I-130 is in the U.S. (I'm in China with my wife) awaiting translation of accompanying marriage certificates before being sent to the Vermont service center in the next few days. As the process is going to take awhile I've decided to find a job here to fill the 6+ months of waiting. However, if I get a job, I'll get a Z work visa, which will entitle me to a residence permit, which means that I can submit the I-130 in Beijing, which that office has told me (and I've read here) is faster than sending it through the U.S. My question is, If I've already submitted the form to the service center in the U.S. can I also submit one to the office here in Beijing if I think that would be faster? Thanks for your help.

Yes, the process of submitting in Beijing is called DCF. You may want to read up about that option, it is faster because USCIS and NVC are not involved in the processing, I still think the actual interview is still conducted in Guangzhou though.

A few things to read about DCF:

Also the Regional forum here is not very active. I highly recommend that you check out A Candle For Love, the members there are very knowledgeable about all things China and the DCF and CR-1 Visa processes.

Good luck!

Terrell,

One other thing, you may want to update your profile a bit more, with Immigration status, your location and country of your fiance(e) China. Fortunately your question was well written with the facts needed, but having the details in your profile helps in future posts.

Again, Good luck! and Welcome to VJ and also if you check them out welcome to CFL
