Birth certificate of petitioner needed?

Hello everyone..

Is the passport of the petitioner enough for the whole processing of I-130? Because I read that the petitioner can submit passport OR birth cert..I would like to ask if the petitioner MUST submit his birth certificate later on during the process? Will the USCIS or NVC ask for the birth cert. of the petitioner?

no you don't need petitioner birth certificate if you want to send a copy of US passport..you're right the petitioner can submit passport OR birth certificate

my hubby only sent copy of US Passport on I-130 package

USCIS and NVC won't ask the petitioner birth certificate

With our petition, my wife sent a full copy of her US passport plus birth certificate. But only one is required.
