wanted to share my experience at St. Lukes as comprehensive as i can

We arrived at the clinic at around 4 in the morning and there were already a lot of people there, i am already the 17th from the first person in the line, and there i met our fellow vjyer sis Josephine who has an account name of Josteve and we started talking a lot about vj and how much it has helped us in the whole process.

Around 6ish the security guard already started giving priority numbers, there are 3 categories, green for Senior Citizen, Blue for walk ins and Red for online registrants, (i would highly suggest you register online) so my number is 3 from the online registrants around 7 in the morning (wanna asked for apology for the uncertain time because i dont wear a watch :P) they already started verifying our papers be sure you have the ff on hand:

1. 2 copies of Appointment letter (see to it that you printed the whole thing esp the date and time of the interview)

2. Letter from the Embassy

3. NVC letter (photocopy)

4. 2 copies of online registration form for medical

5. Photocopy of the bio page of your passport (be sure its a photocopy and not scanned as they dont honor scanned copies)

6. 3 2x2 pictures (be sure you're not wearing earrings, necklace, headbands.etc.,shirt has a collar and your hair is not covering your ears)

7. Passport

8. Payment

the person who verified my papers asked me to look at the camera for digital photo for the clinics record so that in every test you will undergo they can identify that its really you and not someone else. After verifying my papers they asked us to sit down and wait for our names to be called, after i was called i was asked then to go to the 5th floor and pay at the cashier (i would give credit to one of my friends here on vj who gave me a tip of using the stairs to get everywhere faster than the ones using the elevator :P lai1982 as she gave a very good tip) and after paying everything went so fast thereafter i had the following

1. vital signs

2. height and weight determination and then eye test

(both are on 5th floor)

i was asked then to proceed to the 3rd floor (at this point you would want to remember your first day and last day of your previous period :P)

3. Chest x-ray (the most scary part for me because of the dreadful sputum :P)

after there have to go back to the 4th floor

4. Blood and Urine tests

and after that they will ask you to go back to the 5th floor submit your paper to the USA counter and wait for your name to be called to have your

5. Physical Exam (dont freak out when you are asked to fully undress yourself as you will wear a hospital gown and a lady physician will attend to you if you are a woman :P )

after the physical exam i was asked to proceed to the 2nd floor for my immunization interview

(see to it that you know where your scars for chicken pox or else they will immunize you a vaccine for it :P

after my immunization interview i was told to come back the next day for the results and they will administer the vaccine only if you wont have anymore additional tests

my first day concluded at 12 noon :P

2nd Day

Arrived at St. Luke's around 8:20 in the morning the guard told me to proceed to the 2nd floor for my immunization,

after the immunization they asked me to wait at the releasing counter for my results :) thats the time i knew

I PASSED!!!

i would like to share that from the time i got here in Manila my anxiety level was really high and been worrying a lot to the point where i dont want to eat anything, very worried, stressed out that everyone can see it on my face :P

its like this is one turning point in my life where i surrendered everything to God whatever the result is it is His will that will prevail and we keep on praying and offered everything to Him. the second day was really a relief the time i received the results :)

also i wanted to share that i have been eating garlic every day to fight the free radicals inside the body and been drinking vitamin c, very minimum sugar (only from fruits) as sugar feeds on bacteria that cause diseases.

hope this helped tho, and my apology if there are any incorrect grammar of usage, i am just hoping this review will help those who will undergo medical exam in the future.

and also even if my fiance isnt physically here with me, he was there with me all throughout the medical exam by thru chat on my mobile phone and it has been a great help that he calms me down whenever i start to panic. it is really a great thing that your other half supports you and is there for you most of the time, esp when in the very time you need a support :)

Above everything else we need to realize that God is in control in everything whatever the result is, there is always a reason and purpose behind. keep your faith up, there is no other powerful armor than prayer :)

God bless everyone!

WOW! Firstly, kudos sis because you made it! I know you worried a lot about it as you said on your status box and I am actually feeling the same although my medical exam is still in a months. I have a question though regarding the document needed.

1.) What are these '2 copies of Appointment letter'? You mean, the form you filled up online on SL's site?

2.) What if you don't have the letter from the Embassy?

Thanks and God bless! :)

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

Appointment letter is actually the appointment confirmation of the beneficiary's interview at the embassy the one that is usually sent on your email where you can see the beneficiary's appointment date and time.

if you dont have the letter from the embassy yet just see to it that you brought your NVC letter with you showing your case number :)

Hello fellow VJ members, I am so glad that RYRO ( ROCHELLE - I met her during that time and we both had our medical) have posted her wonderful experience of her Medical at SLEC, all she have shared is indeed of great help to those who are planning to have their medical..One more tip, pls have all your documents be photocopied in a short bond paper because that was the prob. i encountered during that day, only 1 page was in long bond paper and the lady assisted me did not honor, so i have to be out and have it copied, that made 5 persons ahead of me.

Note: After the 1ST STEP of the medical process, ur number will not be followed anymore, it would seem be like a race from one counter to another, and INDEED! using the stairs would be of great help.Using an elevator is just a waste of time.

Drinking water is allowed inside and a pack of cookie, i suggest you to bring some coz in each counter has long que.It is also better to use comfortable clothes and shoes that can be easily taken off during the day coz of chest and physical exam.

BUT MOST OF ALL, BE ATTENTIVE COZ MICROPHONES and GUARD'S VOICE ARE SOMETIMES EITHER UNCLEAR AND SOFT AND THAT YOU CAN HARDLY HEAR YOUR number or NAME TO BE CALLED, that happened to me and Rochelle we were not aware our numbers are being announced by the guard to make a line for the first step and again i think 2 persons were ahead of us it's good we approached the guard and asked...forget being "SHY" in this matter hehhehe..I think I have told everything me and Rochelle have experienced that day...GOODLUCK TO ALL OF US..
