I am the petitioner. Not working currently. Co sponsor made about 1000 less than required this past year.

How much would he need in bank or how can we fix this. Appointment has been scheduled in juarez & everything approved in order to

get appointment. Will they even ask for 2011. I read some threads talking about only last three years prior to signature on I-184.

Please help.

Interview in two weeks.

Thanks.

Is the co-sponsor self-employed? If not, then he will use his current income and prove it with a letter from employer and most recent pay stubs. Yes, you both need to provide an I-134 and your 2011 tax transcripts along with proof of current income, as I mentioned. The co-sponsor also needs to provide proof of being a US citizen or permanent resident.

If the co-sponsor does not make enough to meet the 125% requirement for his own household size plus your fiancee, then perhaps you need to try and find a co-sponsor that does qualify.

You really should have posted all the info about your situation in one detailed post. It was hard trying to figure out correct answers for you with only bits and pieces spread out in different forum posts and a private message.

Also, not sure why you posted in this forum and why your profile states adjusting status if you have not had your interview in Juarez for the visa yet. It is the K-1 visa, correct?

On the I864 it asks you to put in the last 3 years of income, but you can submit only 2011 tax forms for verification. In your case since the most recent year is below the guideline, I would submit all 3 years. I believe you have to show 3 to 5 times the shortfall of income in assets. So if you're short 1000, you need 3000 to 5000. Good luck to you.

Thank you for your replies... New here & getting familiar with everything on this site.

I read somewhere about only needing the three last income tax returns

Prior to JS signature on i-184... Is this not correct?

Also, in bank account, would he need 3 times or 6 times the difference between income & guidelines.

Again, difference is only $1000.

Clear title for my car would be listed on my affidavit of support or where?

Own another truck as well but car is paid off.

Thank you again.

The co-sponsor must qualify on his/her own. You cannot add your truck to the co-sponsor's affidavit. If the co-sponsor is $1000 short, then they need 5 times the difference in assets because they are not an immediate relative of the immigrant.

As Harpa said, you cannot combine your assets/income with your co-sponsor's. The co-sponsor needs to qualify on their own. They would need at least 5 times the $1000 they are short, which is at a bare minimum of $5000 in assets.

I will just answer everything here out in the open at the same time:

Your mother can only help if she can qualify on her own to be the co-sponsor. You cannot have more than one. You do not combine incomes with them. If your co-sponsor does not qualify, you need to find one that does before your interview.
