CEMAR is actually the CRS Form 5 - Advisory on Marriages. It will list all previous and current marriages in a chronological order.

What’s so controversial you have only two types, and they are pretty self-explanatory. Not to mention, been discussed a million time.

CRS Form No. 4 (CENOMAR) is simply what its name implies. Certificate of No Marriage.

CRS Form No. 5 (Advisory on Marriages Certificate) self-explanatory.

The issue is, that for a long time, the CEMAR was never listed as a requirement for the interview. Many people have been surprised when asked for it. Sometimes the consul will ask for a CENOMAR, when it is the CEMAR they need. The reason being is that when you go to the NSO you fill out the exact same form for both documents. You get a CEMAR if you are or have been married and a CENOMAR if you have not been married.

I don't understand this:

Applicants should request certificates that are issued with a "CDLI endorsement" (Court Documents and Legal Instruments). This endorsement shows any amendments to the original document from marriages, annulments, name changes etc. Unless a CDLI copy is requested, the requester will receive the unamended or original copy of the document.

You have to ask for this endorsement when you obtain the CENOMAR?

It's because I get to read a lot of posts that the CEMAR is not in the list of requirements which caused confusion for some. I agree it's not on the list of the US Embassy Manila site, I didn't see it explicitly listed as to the one on travel.state.gov.

I got mine too also even though it is not in the list on the US Embassy Manila site, thanks to VJ!

I just shared the link, US Embassy Manila should update that list.

My CEMAR, according to many, this certificate is considered as the JOKER during the interview,

I was also hesitant to get a copy coz I thought the Marriage Certificate issued by the NSO was already good enough,

but I decided to bring along a copy just in case, and good thing I did coz the Filipina screener asked for it

during our screening process back then,...
