Hello folks,have a question,,,do i need to have a social security number before applying for my I 485?I have been here for about a month and my husband is the sweetest of all,i do thank God for his life,his family is really loving and caring as well.Thanks to you all for your prayers any constant help.hugs

If you want to apply for joint accounts, bank, utilities etc. You will need a social security card. If you wait until after your I-94 expires you won't be able to get the SS Card until you have received your Green card and that's a long wait for that. Having the joint accounts will be helpful when you have your interview. Glad to hear you are happy :)
