after arriving on a cr1 visa is my spouse supposed to go to USCIS for biometrics? Today he received an appointment letter to have biometrics done and I thought they already did it at port of entry.

No. He had it done at the interview and again at the POE.

However, is easier to go and get it done, then fight the system to let them know it's erroneous.

There's too many failure points 'in the system' that you have to track down , getting the right humans (which is rare) and getting it fixed. It'll turn into a nightmare, IMO.

as of now, it smells like there was a problem at the POE, the CBP staffers not select CR-1 visa type in their computer system.

I'd go into a CBP secondary/deferred inspection office, talk to the shift supervisor, ask them to review his status in the SAVE database - it very well may be wrong.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

We had an infopass appointment today for an erroneous NOA we received Friday and his status in their computer is CR1 and he was in the system. But don't you know when I got home from the infopass appt I had another notice of action saying he had an appointment for biometrics November 15. When I called USCIS they had absolutely no clue why, and when I told USCIS biometrics was done at the interview, and at POE, 2 different people at USCIS people told me they had never heard that biometrics was done at POE grrrrrrrrrrr. It pisses me off that no one seems to know what the hell is going on, and no one knows what another department or even person does. I just know he never got a welcome letter, and that if we don;t go to this stupid 3rd biometrics he may never get a damn green card. Totally maddening. mad.gif
