Getting closer to my 5 months on a decision for NOA2

Can't believe next month will be 5 months since I have heard anything about the decision on the NOA2.

I heard it's still over 5 months for people at Vermont? Is this still true? I looked at my timeline and the time is gradually getting nearer, so I hope it's promising.

Also I was wondering, because we did this through a Immigration Attorney, once we get a decision I assume it will go through them first then get back to us? If we are fortunate enough to get approved does the same thing apply?

Any helpful answers appreciated.

Thanks

Sinead

*** Thread shifted from K-1 Process forum to K-1 Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I see your Timeline... Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 17, 2013 and January 22, 2013*.

Ours was accurate when our NOA2 was approved. The best of luck on your K1 journey (F)

It takes roughly 6 months, give or take a few days. VSC seems to be steaming ahead lately, well except for today from what I see on Igor's list. Hang in there, even though the wait can be quite frustrating at times. Also use the time to familiarise with the processes. If possible, register on the USCIS website where you can check if you've been approved. Good luck on your journey (F) (F)

Thank you! :-)

I keep hearing it's about 6 months, it's great that Vermont are gradually starting to improve. It can be very frustrating, especially when you see September filers getting approved when i filed way back in July. I do understand some people have been waiting longer, so not complaining too much. My fiance in America hasen't seen his 8 month old son for the majority of the 8 months, its very emotional. :/

I do keep track on the USCIS website, with my receipt number. I am trying to plan a bit ahead. I have had all the relevant vaccinations and have sent off for my Police certificate. Just trying to be optimistic.

Stay strong... VSC is just plain slow. Also, there is a delay at London's end, too. I do hope it's gone by the time you get there.

Thanks.

The worst part is not knowing whats going on. I hate the unknown, it just makes me feel even more anxious. I hope the beginning of next year i will hear something..it's going to be a long journey. :/
