As you can see I joined VJ last month. As you can also see I just received my NOA1 so paperwork is off to Vermont. This site has been very helpful in my I-129F paperwork and is helping me with the future paperwork that I will be doing. Okay this section is to introduce myself so here goes.

I am a former United States Marine from the View Nam era (yes I am kind of old...almost 57!) I have been married two times before. Once when I got out of the Corps, I was young and did not think it through. Anyway we stayed married for almost 16 years and have one daughter. I got divorced and was married in less than 1 year. Do you think that one worked out? You are correct it did not. We stayed married for 6 years with zero kids. Got divorced and told myself I will never get married again. Nope not going to do it. GOD has told me loud and clear I am supposed to be single and live out my life that way. Well for a few years I stayed single and did not have anything to do with ladies. Then I met Elizabeth. Elizabeth is from Mexico and was working in the US on her TN visa. The company I work for has business with the company that Elizabeth worked for. That is how we met. A year went by before I had the nerve to ask Elizabeth out to eat. My only thought was to have someone to go out and eat and nothing more. The time came to pick her up and go out to eat. We sat and talked over 3 hours. What a wonderful time we both had. Over the course of the next year we would go out to eat, catch a movie, and just hang out together. Elizabeth had never been married. I was fully up front with her and told her my complete past. I also told Elizabeth I enjoyed her company but it was never going to move any closer as I was never going to get married again. Elizabeth understood and did not push anything. This went on for 4 years! Over those 4 years we became very close. GOD is a big part of both of our lives...something I did not have in my past two marriages. GOD started sending me messages that I tried to brush off but HE has a way to get your attention. Elizabeth and I both knew we were meant for each other. We deceided to get married. During this time the company she worked for was being sold. The sale took place this past January and of course Elizabeth had to return to Mexico. Oh by the way we are both accountants. Please do not make any jokes about a big bad former Marine now crunching numbers! In Mexico you should ask the parents for permission to marry their daughter. Elizabeth's dad passed away a number of years ago but her mom is 70 years old and doing fine. I also had the chance to meet her mom a number of times in past years when she would come see Elizabeth. We all would go to church together and of course go out to eat. This past July I flew to Mexico City and was ready to pop two questions. One to her mom asking for permission and if she said yes then to ask Elizabeth to marry me. Thank GOD they both said yes. It was a great time as her three brothers were there with their wives and kids...there was a whole houseful. What a wonderful time we all had.

Yes I had two failed marriages but this one is completely different and true and pure. We are looking forward to getting the K1 visa and getting on to the next chapter of our lives. We have thought this out and with GOD in our lives the entire time. Thank you for those who wanted to waste some time and read this long story I just typed. If I can be of any help to anyone please let me know. I work in Kennesaw, Georgia which is just north of Atlanta. I live just across the state line in Alabama on my family's farm. My dad had to go to a nursing home 7 years ago and was so worried about everything was sitting empty. He worried about someone taking his tractor and breaking into the house or barn. Anyway he talked me into moving to the farm and driving to Kennesaw each day...70 miles one way. It was crazy but it gave dad peace of mind knowing I was living here. Dad passed away almost two years ago but I still live here. Once Elizabeth and I get married we have decided to move to the Kennesaw area. Not sure what I will do with the farm yet. That is the short version of my story!

I want to say GOD BLESS to each and evey one of you and also GOD's SPEED

Thanks for all the kind words. After dating for the last four years it is hard being apart. As I said in my post she moved back to Mexico City in January when her company was sold as she was here on her TN visa. I have flown to Mexico to see here a few times this year and she has flown to the US to see me also. As of today I have two weeks before I fly back to Mexico City to see Elizabeth again. I am flying down for the long Thanksgiving holiday and am looking forward to it. Elizabeth is flying to the US in December on her tourist visa for a few weeks. While she is here we will be looking for a place to get married plus all the other items that need to be done. Elizabeth will fly back to Mexico after only staying in the US for two weeks. We of course are not getting married until the K1 visa is issued. I know there have been a number of comments about travel while your K1 visa is in progress. I want to ask again does anyone see any type of problem with Elizabeth's visit in December?

Thanks to everyone

GOD bless and GOD's speed

Hi John, thanks for such a lovely story. Wish all the best to you and your soon-to-be Elizabeth. It's a bit tricky to travel to U.S. on a non-migration visa while you have one migration visa pending(in this case, the CR1) because that's in conflict with the non-migration intent.

My B1 visa is still valid after we submitted our CR1 application. I wanted so much to visit my husband on Christmas but our attorney advised me not so since I might very well be denied entry at the airport.
