Administrative review. they will send you a letter in 120 to 180 days with the reasons for the review and you will have to provide evidence to support that you have a bona fide relationship. They will give you the reasons for their review and you will have to address those reasons in a letter. My reasons were my spouse did not know enough about my children and appeared not to be a father figure, different religions and no official engagement date. I addressed each of these and sent a hugh package of e-mails, skype documents everything that would prove that I have contact with my spouse every day and indeed have a bona fide relationship. Hope this helps. Take care

After my case was transferred twice in 6 months I sent in an inquiry to find status of our case. A month later they sent me a response the case was in review what I had already deducted. AR/AP can be done at any stage so if it has to be reviewed now when he goes to the interview the additional processing is complete. I got the NOA2 less than one month after the letter. Hoping for a quick resolution.....

Good luck,

WHAT ABOUT THIS RESPONSE FROM USCIS? WE MADE A CONGRESSIONAL INQUIRY AND SRMT OR SERVICE REQUEST AND BOTH RESPONSE ARE EXACTLY THE SAME..

RESPONSE: Good Morning,

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner to ensure public safety and national security.

USCIS requires extensive background checks for every application or petition. While background checks for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved background check issues that result in adjudication delays.

Background checks involve more than just the initial submission for a response related to biographical information and fingerprints. Further inquiry is needed when checks and/or a review of an administrative record reveal an issue potentially impacting an applicant's eligibility for the requested immigration benefit. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or the need to contact another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. If it is determined that an outside agency possesses relevant information about a case, USCIS requests such information for review. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS then adjudicates the application or petition as expeditiously as possible.

We have checked into this case and have been assured that USCIS is aware of your inquiry, and is monitoring progress related to it. However, unresolved issues require a thorough review before a decision can be rendered. Unfortunately, we cannot speculate as to when this review process will be completed.

For future status inquiries of a petition or application filed at this Center you may want to utilize our National Customer Service Center by calling 1-800-375-5283. If you would like to obtain forms, filing instructions, case status or schedule an appointment with your local office, please visit our website at www.uscis.gov.

IS THIS THEIR WAY OF SAYING THAT OUR APPLICATION IS SITTING ON A PILE?

Although all this waiting is so damn hard, I was asking myself what if this happened to my case? My answer is, I would rather they did all their review initially and answer any doubts they have than to get my husband in his interview only to tell him sorry we need to review more before we can answer you. I would give anything to take less stress off of him , our spouses/fiances have enough stress with that interview and being told they need to go through it once again can't be easy! I think the 6 months they are saying is extreme and its just a window for difficult cases. USCIS should be taking more of the burden off of Casablanca and answering potential issues in advance, rather than getting couples pumped up for the interview then turned away for things that could have been answered initially.

My point was, the standard excuse will always be we are reviewing it with no details and they feel they have met your request for inquiry. I can clearly understand your feeling as I felt the same way. I called USCIS and the operator revealed nothing on the case but gave me a glimmer of hope by offering to process an inquiry only to get a letter that states what you already know that they are not done with the case. Try to be patient and know that soon he will get an opportunity to state his case. Hang in there....

Additional review would mean review that is more extensive than normal. It's not uncommon for North Africa cases. It could be as simple as delays in name checks caused by a common name, where somebody with the same name has a background problem. Often the petitioner or beneficiary has a clue what might cause the need for the additional review but may or may not tell their spouse about it.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Hi abdelnish83.... did you and your fiance go through an attorney to ensure that all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted? I'm just curious if something like this happens when you have an attorney to ensure that everything runs smooth...wondering if this happens regardless...
