I-131 question with I-485 filing

So,

Im getting ready to submit my wife's I-485 AOS packet. She came on a K1. What I want to know is if I submit a I-131 if she has to have firm plans to travel or a certain reason? To better explain it's been a year since she's seen her family and I would like for her to have the freedom to travel if she decides too without being hostage to the permanent resident process. But do they require an itinerary or certain reasons to approve the I-131 while the AOS is in process or can we simply file the I-131 to have the freedom to travel while the AOS is in process?

Also, if I file the I-131 with the AOS, how long would the I-131 take to be approved?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to the input.

File the I-765 at the same time. It takes 60-90 days to approve them. You won't regret it.

No she doesn't need firm travel plans. Just put "unknown" in the dates/length of time.

You say it's been a year since she saw her family. Has she been in the US a year? If so, then she cannot use AP anyway.

Harpa's right. When did her I-94 expire and when did you file for AOS? That affects whether she can use AP or not.
