Hi Guys,

I just want to find out on the G325a where it was asking for File Number A on the upper right hand corner do I need to write my A#/Alien# on that spot? I am getting ready to file my petition and I'm not quite sure. I was gonna ask about the same on my 129F form but I got the info from Sealedkiss post. Please help thanks inn advance for your help.

That may NOT be the A#, alien registration number. From what I understand it's your application number (I-129F application) which you don't have yet.

On the I-129F itself, question 8b, there is your A# (Alien Registration Number). You have this if you are a naturalized US citizen.

Other members, please confirm, as I'm also new to this process.

Yes that is the Alien registration number, if your fiance had another visa to the USA they may have a number, if not put "NONE"

See the example form under K-1 http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-G-325A.pdf

I'm confused now. What exactly is File Number A (on the G235A)? I thought it was different than Alien registration number, but apparently YuAndDan thinks otherwise. More opinions?

That A number is the Alien registration number. On my fiance(e) G-325A form We put "NONE" since she would not have one until after the petition was filed. NOTE: the G-325A form gets used again when we file for Adjustment of status, at that time we will put her A# in that box. See example G-325A form under the AOS section. http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-G-325A-aos.pdf

One last thing Hypothetically, If my fiance(e) had visited the USA on a work or student visa she would have an A# before we filed the petition and in that case instead of "NONE" we would have entered the Alien registration number from the work or student visa.

Nothing to be confused about.
