Processing time for spouse same for PR and GC ??

Hi All,

I recently called USCIS and came to know that processing time for "Permanent Resident to sponsor spouse" is now 5 months for California Service Center, which is same what it is taking for "Citizen to sponsor the spouse". I think there used to be a big difference before. Any idea if this processing time can get more soon ror next year

My divorce from present marriage will be completing next month and I think if I re-marry soon after that, it won't be a issue and I can bring my spouse in US in like 5-6 mnths?. Just one more things that I am living outside US for last 1 1/2 years with a valid paperwork though

US Citizen filing for alien spouse takes 6-12 months to complete. Case to case basis though.

Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) filing for alien spouse takes atleast 2 years to complete.

Processing time is the same, but a greencard holder also has to wait for the priority date to become current, which adds 2+ yeatrs to the process.

Really, a big thanks for your responses. Is there also a website or USCIS publication which confirms this ?.

Also what is processing and what is priority period ?
