Well after the visa was approved Fri 19th, Mon 22nd it was in Administrative Processing and today Tue 23rd it has been issued! (well, it says my visa is in final processing). I'm hoping

that means I might well receive my courier package by the end of this week!

Pity my flight hasn't gone down in price for the last week! I'm biding my time hoping flights will go down in price this week then I will book it, I'm still planning on August 9th to fly out.

Congrats on the approval!

I don't have the interview date yet but my fiancé booked the ticket already to avoid the triple zero.

As my fiance's interview date is fast approaching, he is getting more and more nervous. Not so much about the questions, but because of something that showed up on his police report from when he lived in the UK a few years ago. Apparently, where he was working 50 pounds went missing, and all of the junior staff were questioned. He didn't take the money, has no idea who did, and never heard another thing about it. Needless to say, we were quite shocked that his police report came back stating, "Caution: Robbery by Employee." Please tell me they won't deny his visa over something he was merely questioned about. I mean, if he had been charged, I would think that it would have said something about him not showing up to a court date or not paying a fine or something. Does anyone know of something that minor, which he wasn't guilty of or even charged for, being a big problem for getting a fiance visa?

I keep trying to assure him that as long as he's honest about what happened then he should be fine, but he wants some reassurance from more than just me. Please, please, please tell me this won't be more than a minor bump in the road. --Thanks!

Oh, and congrats to those with the recent approvals!! I'm so excited for you!! And you give me hope! :-)

Hello there.

Sorry to hear all. This but from my experiance of living in the uk for 32 years and also having just got my police report back two days ago as well .I wouldn't think they would put that on a report unless he was found guilty or confessed therefore had been cautioned as a first offence etc. are sure there is no more information he may have forgotten to give you regarding the matter? There are 3 things that they state on the report according to my cover letter. I hope I can help you understand how it works here in the UK. The first thing that can come on the report is a cover letter explaining the terms they use. if you have no conviction no arrest no reprimands no warnings or no cautions. That will generate a report saying -NO TRACE. Which is what I had on mine.

The second term is -NO LIVE TRACE. This says while there is criminal record information held about you this information does not appear on your police certificate as it is deemed no longer relevant. It still forms part of your criminal record history and it is your responsibility to declare it in accordance with the condition of your visa application.

The third term is: FURTHER INFORMATION STEPPED DOWN- Only relevant criminal record information is shown in the police certificate.

You will have to ask him which one of these has come up on that police certificate. If it is no live trace or further information stepped down. He will have to go and produce a report from the police office to prove he was not guilty or if he was that it was something petty. Just going to the interview without proof and getting to the root of the problem could either cause a denial or a very long delay. I hope I was able to help you understand how it all works. You can also go to the ACPO (Associate of Chief Police Officers website) WWW.Customer.resolutions@acro.pnn.police.uk

For more information and if you need to call them yourself here is the number for international callers 00441962871111 or UK number is 08456013999.

I hope this all helps. I do hope it all works out in your favour. But pls what ever you do advice him to be honest and truthful at his interview. Good luck with it.

Well, unfortunately, his interview is on Monday, so I'm not sure we could get any paperwork that quickly. I don't know what I'm going to do if he gets denied based on something he didn't even do. crying.gif And, I know that I'm unfamiliar with UK law, but I have a degree that is accredited by the American Bar Association as well as a degree in the Administration of Justice, and it doesn't make much sense to me that someone could be found guilty or confess to a crime without a conviction, let alone without being aware of even being charged with the crime. I would think that something more than just a caution would show up if that were the case. The report gave me the impression that the caution must have been placed on all who were questioned due to never concluding who was guilty. Perhaps that's just a difference between U.S. and UK law...i'm just having trouble wrapping my mind around it. And I know he didn't do it, much less confess to something he didn't do. cray5ol.gif

I do understand what you mean however. If he saying they cautioned all the people working there. He would still need to provide evidence that this occurred. Is there no way he can reschedule the interview. I fear he may end up in AP for a long period of time till they ascertain or obtain the evidence from him. Just a heads up on what would end up happening.

Also just to let you know it all really depends on the employer if they decide to take you to court for a conviction. most cases its not really worth their while to do that especially when its a relatively small amount of money, hence a caution or warning is more appropriate. You don't need to go to court to get a caution or warning here.

So, this is weird, he just sent me a picture of the report and it doesn't have any of those 3 terms on it. The cover letter just says that it may include one of those terms. So confusing???
