I'm lost!! the NVC told us that they sent our file to the US embassy in Jakarta on May 31st and they said that the embassy will give them our new case number. You have your case number, have the NVC send your file to the embassy where your fiancé lives?

Butterfly, I'm not sure -- I thought everyone is supposed to be assigned a case number while at NVC, and the embassy will contact you when they receive the file. When you called NVC, did you specifically ask for your case number? I had to ask for mine, she didn't volunteer it until I asked. But I wouldn't worry -- if your file has been shipped out, then that's great! You should be hearing from your embassy soon. The only thing you can do with your case number BEFORE your embassy contacts you is to schedule your medical exam. But you should be fine, if the embassy gets in touch soon.

Yes we asked our case number, and they said that the case number will be given by the embassy. Oh well, then, it will be only us without the case number from the NVC. lol.

From the DHL tracking thread (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/) in the embassies forum here ... it's a fun and possibly useful thing to try, if your packet has LEFT NVC already and you want to track it to your fiance's Embassy.

It took a little work, but you put in some info on the tracking page (http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html) and then enter Shipper's Reference EXP 03 JUN 2013A or whatever date you're looking for, and see what they have.

Mine hasn't left NVC yet so I can't find it, but ButterflyAngelo, you said yours left NVC going to Jakarta. It's likely it's this tracking reference: http://www.dhl.com/content/g0/en/express/tracking.shtml?brand=DHL&AWB=7552683773%0D%0A since that's the only Indonesia one around that date. It says (if it's yours!) that delivery was attempted but the embassy was closed today. So they should get it tomorrow!

Got a text saying our case updated. Went to the website and found it saying out petition was approved, which I can only guess it is the NOA2!

We had a 23 Nov 2012 NOA1 date.

Been a long time coming. Congrats to those who've made it it past this far. And for those who are still waiting, don't give up!

So I am a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Benin. My mom called and said that the NOA2 came to my house on May 23rd. I am really confused about the next step. I have had my family call the NVCand they said it was shipped out on May 20th. I have also checked the DHL website and found nothing coming to Benin. I have prepared the documents, and I am waiting for the call from the embassy I guess. I am really afraid something is going to go wrong because I don't understand the entire process after the petition... Help anyone?!
