My husband just received notice of action from USCIS, he arrived 3 weeks ago on a cr1. It says Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration receipt notice. "This notice confirms that USCIS received your application or petition. Does anyone know what this is? He has not yet received his green card. Is is telling him that his green card is being issued? We are confused. whistling.gif

Its just saying they received your application for the green card....

I'm assuming the application was sent from immigration the i 94? I haven't sent anything to USCIS since I filed the original I-130. Thank you. star_smile.gif

CR-1/IR-1 visa holders aren't supposed to be issued I-94s at the POE.

What's up ?

re: the letter you got - I think it's a glitch in the programming.

Again.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Again.

it's just a NOA saying "This notice confirms that the USCIS received your application or petition". And it gives a receipt number, it is from Texas Service Center. I made an infopass appointment for Monday. He has been here almost 4 weeks. He filled a white form when he came through immigration asking for his arrival record, his address here in the US, where the visa was issued, what flight number and so on. When I Googled the form it came up as the i 94 and that is the form he said he filled out. I am so confused headbonk.gif

I made an infopass appointment for Monday. He has been here almost 4 weeks. When he went through immigration they took his fingerprints, asked him a few questions about me, and had him fill out a white form when he came through immigration asking for his arrival record, his address here in the US, where the visa was issued, what flight number the place where his flight originated and so on. Then they stamped his passport and wrote CR1 on the stamp, they did not return the form to him they kept it. When I googled the form it came up as the i 94 and that is the form he said he filled out(I showed him the form online). I am so confused headbonk.gif

i agree with Darnell. CR-1/IR-1 visa holders aren't supposed to be issued I-94s at the POE. but sometimes they have to fill out the form at POE :bonk: :bonk:  ...my friend had to fill out I 94 at JFK and she's CR1 visa..CR1/IR1 beneficiary is not suppose to keep the i 94 form..but for Nonimmigrant Visitors with a Visa will get their I 94 form back to them until they departs the United States..

as for Receipt Notice, one of my friends also got a receipt notice and the welcome letter with no green card. she just arrived 3 weeks ago...maybe your husband and my friend need to wait longer to get the green card..

Good Luck
