I'm scheduled for a biometrics appointment in the Spokane ASC on November 7, 2012. It's a 4 hour drive from home (Twisp, WA). A week later, on November 14, 2012, I'll be in Seattle and was hoping to get my appointment rescheduled at a Seattle support center. I was told by a USCIS phone receptionist that I could only request for rescheduling via regular mail and that if I show up and try to walk-in in the Seattle ASC they may refuse to take my biometrics and that could set my application back 60 days. Is that correct? No options but to drive 8 hrs out of way for a 5 minutes biometrics?

Hey,

Take care if most documents first and I will tell you it will give you headache to get another appointment for biometrics. I don t know which country you are from but for you to reschedule bio appointment there will be a lot to provide to have another appointment.uscis will ask you to provide police reports from every country you live in. Etc...that could take you couple o months.just an advice though.the choice is yours

I think that you have to follow the re-scheduling information that is stated on the initial ASC notice. When I read it, the implication to me was....make the appointment we give you... or good luck rescheduling another. My stepson initially didn't want to miss a couple of his college classes for the biometrics appointment in Tukwila. I told him to go ahead and call the Virginia appointment office and try to reschedule another appointment in Tukwila, WA. Remember....it is their ball game, their rules, and their ball field. My advice is to you is to just get it done! Think long and hard whether It is worth the hassles that you are trying to heap on yourself. B-)

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

P.S. My wife and stepson had their biometrics "captured" (USCIS-speak) at the time and place USCIS prescribed.

You can try a walk-in but it would have to be before your scheduled date. If you don't show up on your scheduled date and don't reschedule in advance (by mail), your case will be denied. So if there is a closer ASC to you, try going on Monday or Tuesday.
