I-751 LETTERS

It's time for Teaw and I to file the I-751 papers to get her 10 year green card. Does anyone who has done it have better examples of the letters they sent in from friends in support of the filing and do they really have to be notarized? I would think just a letter with a signature and all the pertinent information would be good enough.

How's everyone doing? I haven't checked in here for a long time...been busy living life with a Thai wife!!!

I didnt submit any letters to get mine. If you do submit them it does no good to notarize them because a notary simply verifies signatures not content.

I have both to styles submit, the key is to identify the letter writer, the recipient and the notary.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Yes, I know what a notary does....I used to be one years ago. i don't think we'd need letters. We have enough evidence of being together here but I guess it never hurts. I don't see any reason for a notary either. If they suspected something they would contact the people and ask questions.

Since you were one I dont understand why you would ask. Letters or affvidavits are worthless as evidence because as a former notary you know anyone can write anything and in fact even have it notarized. The value of such evidence is zero as far as I know and isnt required due to that fact.

Your relationship is solid and speaks for itself. You should have no trouble with the 10 year card.

I did not send letters, or Affidavits for that matter, for a couple of reasons. The main one being we have plenty of relationship evidence (joint health insurance, car insurance, bank accounts, bought a house where he signed as POA, photos etc), and the other being if we were RFE'd for more evidence of relationship I'd actually have something to send! I also held back happy anniversary cards from his family and a few other things. They weren't as "clinical" as the rest of the evidence so I held off. Plus I'm of the opinion that if you send too much of the "little" things that it looks more like you're trying to convince them of a lie. I'm letting our documents speak for themselves... well hoping they do... because I still haven't heard :S
