Visa process for fiance

Hi there! My fiance is from Jordan, but we live in South Africa because he has been here on an extended visa working and such, I am from New Jersey, not sure which service center is closest to my home state, but I am looking to file a K-1 for him I have been here in South Africa on visitor status since May of this year... I am guessing this counts as time spent together too. Do you think there is a chance for denial in the Visa? Since we are both out of our country of residence but we live together here...what would be the ideal thing to do i do not want to go back to the us and leave him here ... but if i file from here it might complicate the process ... im so confused please help !!!
