NVC payment portal

Hi everyone,

I received my NVC numbers a couple of days ago.

My husband and I were both able to log in to the payment portal and it said that there was no payment available for processing.

Yesterday it started having a sign on error. It would load but say that there was an error with the log on or whatever on a new page.

Today it now says:

You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information.

I've read about sign in failures prior to an invoice becoming available, but is it possible this is related to our expedite request? Wishful thinking I know!

Thanks anyone who can help - if it's normal then at least we all know what to expect.

I read on the NVC page that this error message is normal, but I'm more confused as to why we got 2 DIFFERENT error messages over a period of 2 days after initially being able to access it.

How long will the system usually go down before you can pay it?

From another Thread:

Help! I can't sign into the payment portal. Why?

If you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-3032 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced. And finally, if this message is appearing a few days or more after NVC received your packages, this is a good indication of case complete at NVC!

the only way to find out is to call the NVC like the message says on the portal. Answers from members here would be mere speculation. Good luck.

From another Thread:

Thanks - my second post alludes to the fact I had read that... my question is regarding the two different error messages, and hope long is 'normal' for the system to go down for processing.

Mimolicious - thanks, I understand that. But I don't want to waste the CSO's time at NVC if this is something very normal, with unnecessarily holding up the lines for people with less frivolous queries.

Sorry, I'm dyslexic and sometimes only pick up on half the things posted.

In fact, the paragraph that I pasted you, I can't understand a single word in the whole thing, but I know some of the words you posted matched some of the words in there so I figured they were about the same thing lol

Oh wow - thanks for the help :) Just sometimes feel like people almost have a dig at you for not researching enough - when it's what I've become obsessed with and spend a good couple of hours a day looking into this stuff!

Great - thank you for that! We'll hopefully have a bill to pay tomorrow then :)

Appreciate your reply!
