Hey everyone! Rick & Jordan again...we have a few last minute questions that we would like some input on...please fill free to chime in if you know any information regarding them. We really appreciate the help! Thanks so much!

Questions:

So I'm in college and was told that because my parents still claim me as a dependent, that I might have to use them as a co-sponsor...How do I go about getting them involved in the process? Is there just a simple form to fill out? What if I'm above poverty level, even whilst in college since I work too? Do I still need them to help sponsor my fiance?

In regards to work history on the g25A form- if Rick has been working for a company for 5 years, but they were recently out bought by another...is that 2 separate entities on the form? Or does he simply put the name of the company now?

What is the Alien Registration Number???

One more about the G25a form- at the bottom when it asks about what application is it in connection with, it would be Option C : other- and we type K1 Visa...right??? not naturalization or status as a permanent resident...(sorry if this is a dumb question) just double checking...

Do all of our evidence photos have to be printed on glossy paper too, or just the passport-like photo? Do we need to date the photos???

Hi Rick and Jordan,

Others may be able to answer better but since nobody has yet, you have me.

1. Regarding sponsorship: I don't know.

2. Listing work history: I had something similar happen and listed both separately. I used the logic that a W-2 was issued for both entities.

3. Alien Registration #: We left that blank because we don't have one yet that I've seen. I read others ask the same question and they left it blank also.

4. We chose "Other" and specified it as "Fiance Visa"

Our answers were enough to satisfy since we were approved.

Good luck to you both!

Mick

Just the passport photo. You can send them copies of your photographs as long as you leave space to say who is in the photos, when they were taken and where because if they misplace the photos they will send you an RFE so its better to label EVERYTHING

I assume we are speaking of the petitioner here. I have not heard this. I do know that the petitioner is the primary sponsor regardless of parental dependency. If you make enough to sponsor the beneficiary, there would be no need to use a cosponsor. If someone can confirm that you would need a cosponsor because you are listed as a dependent on your parents' taxes, I would like to know this as well. If you do use a cosponsor, they would need to fill out a separate I-134 form and provide their supporting evidence as you would for your form.

In regards to work history on the g25A form- if Rick has been working for a company for 5 years, but they were recently out bought by another...is that 2 separate entities on the form? Or does he simply put the name of the company now? I think the present name would suffice.

What is the Alien Registration Number??? The beneficiary will be given an alien registration number that will follow him/her through immigration. He/she will get one if/when the petition is approved. Writing 'NONE' will work just fine for the purpose of the petition because a number hasn't been assigned yet.

One more about the G25a form- at the bottom when it asks about what application is it in connection with, it would be Option C : other- and we type K1 Visa...right??? not naturalization or status as a permanent resident...(sorry if this is a dumb question) just double checking...Yes, or 'I-129F petition' or whatever is listed in the example form here.

Do all of our evidence photos have to be printed on glossy paper too, or just the passport-like photo? Do we need to date the photos??? This is only a specification given for the US style passport photos. Only name is needed for the back of the passport photos. Write names, date, place with any photos of you submitted as meeting evidence. Glossy, matte, or printed on printer paper, people have seem to have submitted evidence photos in different formats successfully. We submitted standard 4x6 glossy prints.

Is there just a simple form to fill out? What if I'm above poverty level, even whilst in college since I work too? Do I still need them to help sponsor my fiance? I'm not the expert on this one, sorry. Wait for some sound advice from others.

In regards to work history on the g25A form- if Rick has been working for a company for 5 years, but they were recently out bought by another...is that 2 separate entities on the form? Or does he simply put the name of the company now? G-325A right? Just list the most current one, followed by the company before it with start and end date.

What is the Alien Registration Number??? That's a unique # given to most non-citizen within US.

One more about the G25a form- at the bottom when it asks about what application is it in connection with, it would be Option C : other- and we type K1 Visa...right??? not naturalization or status as a permanent resident...(sorry if this is a dumb question) just double checking...We've put Others: I-129F

Do all of our evidence photos have to be printed on glossy paper too, or just the passport-like photo? Do we need to date the photos??? 4x6 is ideal and printed to regular photo paper. Sign up at Shutterfly.com and you'll get the 1st 50 prints for free, just pay for shipping. If you've decided to sign up, you'll have an option to put the dates and names of the people on the photos.
