This may seem like a silly question, but I need advice regarding the photos my husband will take to the interview as evidence. I am living in Egypt with him...and where we live, things are not as easy to get accomplished. If I was in America, I would just have the pics we want printed at Wal-Mart or CVS, etc. However, I have a feeling we will have a difficult time getting these pictures printed in our city. So my question:

Can I print our photos in color on regular computer paper, say 2 to a page? Or do we need to find a place that can print actual photos, on photo paper? I don't want the embassy to look at my husband like he's crazy for printing photos on computer paper :)

Has anyone just shown them pictures (in color) printed from a computer on regular 8x11 paper?

We had a hard time just making copies of everything we needed for the NVC packet! The copy shop had such a difficult time just running off copies LOL...so I can only imagine the nightmare we face getting real pics made. If I lived in Cairo, I'm sure it would be simple to find a good photo shop. But our small city is not so easy!

Thanks so much for any help!

Ok,we submitted our compilation photos printed on A4 paper and they were balck and white;A4 is the normal printing paper but I did have about 3 copies printed on real photo paper[8.5 x 11]. There was no big deal about that. You should be fine if the CO can see and notice the person in the pictures.

Good luck

Thanks for the info y'all...I'd feel better printing my photos correctly on computer paper, rather than handing the files over to a shop here in town. There's no telling how they will turn out for the money! And if I do it myself, I can add cover pages and captions for the photos :)

When my husband had his interview 3 days ago he took color photos with him. They were printed on printer paper. 2 to a page. When I originally filed at USCIS, I sent them the same (color photos) on printer paper. I am sure it will not be a problem. With the documents I provided he got an instant approval. But I had alot of other stuff too.

Good Luck! I think he will do great!

Thanks Christina for the info! I used computer paper for USCIS also..I figured it was no big deal for them. But, wanted to be safe when it came to the embassy. I'll go ahead and print them on regular computer paper like you did...will be sooo much easier than having it done through a photo shop! And congrats on the approval! Very exciting! My husband, Peter, has his interview in 3 weeks :) We are praying for the same!

Take a day and travel to a bigger city. or email the pics to a friend in a bigger city and mail them back?

Thanks for the help...but I've already got it all finished! Yay! I went ahead and printed 2 pics per page on regular computer paper. Turned out very nice. Traveling to a larger city would normally be fairly easy...but I'm 30 weeks pregnant and that's a 2+ hour bus/car ride. No Cairo for me right now :)

I'm also printing photos on regular computer paper since everything we have is digital. I was assuming that would be fine but now I'm having second thoughts. Keep us updated on yours! Good luck!

Thanks! I was worried about how it would look, but really, it turned out super nice. I don't have a printer here in Egypt so my hubby went to the local copy shop. And luckily :) they had a nice color printer. The pictures turned out to be great quality. And because we printed 2 pictures on one page, they are nice and big. So I would definitely recommend it. I even made caption pages explaining what each set of pics was about (ex: wedding, honeymoon, family, etc).

I made a 3 ring notebook binder to keep EVERYTHING in for ease. We didn't have a hole punch, so we bought a 50 pack of clear page protectors...put the papers inside the protectors, front and back so it'd hold 100 pages, and put it all in the binder. We did that with all the evidence. It turned out so nice and organized. And now hubby doesn't have to worry about misplacing anything or having to dig through a folder, envelope or bag to retrieve it. We also bought color tab dividers so every section is separate...again, so hubby doesn't have to flip through to find what he's looking for. I wanted to make it as easy as possible for him :)

And if you still have second thoughts...Christina, who posted above, printed her pictures on regular computer paper, 2 to a page. Her husband had his interview at the first of November, was approved, and got the visa in only 5 days! And I'm not sure what people are saying about your Embassy, but at the Cairo Embassy, there are lots of reviews saying either 1. The CO didn't look at the evidence they brought...or 2. The CO only flipped through a few pictures out of all the evidence. Better safe than sorry! But really, I think I was stressing for nothing. The computer paper should be perfectly fine and I think it looks even better! Hope this helps!

And best wishes on your visa journey!
