The thing about Regional Forums is that it focuses people who may be more similar and have more divergent opinions on sensitive regional topics. That is why I have noticed that this forum has become so heated. I have noticed that many members find it necessary to defend their beliefs and opinions at all cost... often by tearing other people's opinions and beliefs down. One person will never be right. Is the glass half empty or half full... I think that everyone should care only that they believe what they do and learn to respect the beliefs of others. This board is about acceptance of the differences that divide us. It is a multi-ethnic and national board where people will think complete opposites and are still correct in the syntax of their beliefs.

The ability to rationalize insults is part of the problem, Captain.

So, how does it make you feel?

Wanted to make a poll, but it didn't work so just explain.

Do you get angry, upset, laugh, find yourself entertained?

i go between being entertained enough to pass the time waiting for the visa and just sad that this is really badly representing women in real relationships with Me/NA men

I will be honest that there is more arguing in this forum than any other by far. More reported posts, etc. Something needs to stop soon please.

I for one would like to apologize for anything I have said that is causing these problems. Come on guys....can't we just learn to be a little more considerate of each other? I know there are times I have things that I am thinking, but decide its best to keep to myself in the name of peace. Anyone else willing to try this? Also, we need to learn to laugh, not at others, but with others. And if that means at myself, so be it.

We really do need more maturity here.

Oh my god are you kidding me? This is rediculous. Did you read your posts?

I'm curious who is doing all the reporting. Is it the people who are doing the bickering and using the report button as another way of getting revenge. Or is it outside people with no axe to grind that just are shocked by what they see here.

I think the anwser to how to make it stops lies in this

The thing about Regional Forums is that it focuses people who may be more similar and have more divergent opinions on sensitive regional topics. This board is about acceptance of the differences that divide us. It is a multi-ethnic and national board where people will think complete opposites and are still correct in the syntax of their beliefs.

I think this is because so many people are faced with having to defend their relationships every day and have become hypervigilant a result. From being told you are un-patriotic to marrying an Arab/Muslim, people saying you are helping terrorism, insults for those that have converted, the being used for a greencard thing, etc.

Add in the longer visa processing times due to the background checks, etc. and that is only more stress.

Not saying any of this is an excuse, only that I think it is part of why people here are more vigiliant and more quick to snap.

I do have to agree with you here (a rare thing...lol). This is a hard process for all of us. When I first got married I heard so many times stupid things like (he is only using you for a green card, he will change when he gets here, aren't you too old for him, why would you want a baby at your age), and interestingly enough these comments have ALWAYS come from people who don't know either him or I, no one that knows us as a couple. As much as we shouldn't let what others think bother us, its kind of hard to swallow at times.

We shouldn't have to divide this MENA forum to the Religious/non Religious/older/younger/caucasion/african-american/etc.....

That this forum is mostly women is a large part of the problem.

This is exactly what I am talking about. I am apologizing, and I am rarely an instagator of anything here. We all need to stop looking at what each other is saying and looking at ourselves. This is why I apologized.

That's very nice but are you only applying it to this thread?

Bottom line is that people outside of this forum are being affected by people/topics in this forum. That needs to stop.

I tend to agree with a previous poster that people seem to be hyper sensitive recently in this forum. If they are insulted they get upset more than normal. A rational response to someone accusing another of being a racist would be to say, "No I am not and my record speaks for itself". But in this forum the answer would be more along the lines of "#######!!!! Screw you. You are this and that and I am right and you are wrong!!! This may get me suspended so I will say it regardless... xyz....".

I would ask that people do not get offended so easily. The nice part about forums is that everything people say is recorded for everyone to see so that others can form their own opinions about what person xyz said and meant.

She just publicly apologized for anything that she might have said/done. We need to turn over a new leaf gals. Capt just said the forum has the most arguing and what happens.....another post to start more arguing.

I don't see how anyone from outside of this forum gets affected. I also wanted to add that alot of time these bickering threads are fueled by outside help
