i don't think is NY i think is the person who has my case because i've met a young lady on here who filed in december and got approved before me

if anything you should hear something before me because i filed after you but then again we never know how they are approving cases lately

Do you call up and ask to have a service request put in?

first you can not go by other's approval

second you can not listen to the person who answers the phone at uscis to give you info.. you need a tier2/io for that

third your petition is most likely transferred to your local office

fourth if you are in NYC, DC, Atlanta, dallas, Hawaii or various other messed up local offices, they are taking anywhere from 5-10 months

230 days later our file is approved!!!!!!!!! I went to Atlanta for a infopass appointment this morning. The man that I saw today confirmed that the file was in the Atlanta office, but it was not a guarantee that he could find it. At first he told that our file was filed away in a box somewhere because they did not have enough shelf space for all 5000 files in there office. He said that if he could find it he would go ahead and approve it if everything was in there that needed to be in the file. It took him 15 minutes to locate it and then another 15 minutes to go through the file and approve it. So I guess if I didn't go in for a infopass my file would have sat there collecting dust for another 4 or 5 months. Truly our I-130 has been floating around the country for almost 8 months now and this man picked it up and had it approved in 15 minutes. I'm on cloud 9 today.

Guy! I need your help and Guidance with my file.

I've submitted my file on November 19, 2012 for my wife. I am a US Citizen. I did not hear anything back so I called to talk to supervisor on July 17. He said my file has been transferred to Atlanta. Same day (July 17, 2013) I also submitted inquiry and the officer said that Due date of the inquiry is August 1 but I should wait till mid august to hear something about the inquiry. Also, I have an infopass set up for August 6 to visit Atlanta local office. I've also contacted Senator Chambless who asked me to fill out Privacy release act form. So i did fill it out and submitted on 7/30/2013.

You guyz have any idea when THESE PEOPLE will get to my file?

You've done all you can do at this point in time. Keep on top of the congressman or senator (preferably BOTH) to see what's happening with your file.

hi everyone,

long time no see! just to update everyone, my wife has her interview at the US Embassy in Manila on the 11th of this month.

something my wife told me surprised me: when she was getting her medical exam completed, they told her she has to leave the Philippines by November 22, 2013.

if and when she gets her visa from the US Embassy, will her visa expire on the 22nd of November or will that be up to the US Embassy. I'm ready to call them tomorrow but I figure why not ask my friends here on visa journey.

any thoughts please...

To The Mean Lady-

Whatever happened with your case at Memphis? I received the same letter and am waiting for my "interview". What was your timeline like?

I'm not sure what you're speaking of.

I was in Chicago and my husband already has his green card as we POE'ed end of July.

You can check out my timeline for more info.

The visa expires 6months from the medical date.

Was your medical in May?

If not, then it's either not true, or there's other parameters for Philippine cases that I'm not familiar with.

Ms. Mean Lady and all my fellow filers. Allow me to update my wife's status.

My wife had her interview on 11 September 2013 ( i didn't think about the date 'til after her interview ). The consular officer who interviewed her had a problem with my income. I receive a monthly compensation from the US Veterans Affairs. The document I sent does state that the US Veterans Affairs compensates me at a certain dollar amount but DOES NOT state that I receive it on a monthly basis. So my wife got a 221g letter requiring that I get a joint-sponsor.

Two things here: I make more than enough on a monthly basis and the second thing is I do have a letter from the US Veterans Affairs that DOES state what I am receiving monthly.

Can I appeal a consular officer's decision based on new evidence? Should I just get a joint-sponsor anyway? If not, could anyone advise on what I could do.

Thanks in advance...
