You need to find out when it was transfer to DC office. You should call USCIS, talk to Tier 2 officer(MAKE SURE YOU TALK TO T2 OFFICER - WAIT TO GET TO T2 IS ABOUT 20 to 30 MINS) and specifically ask him/her about when and where it was transfer. Call USCIS again to confirm that it was transfer(Some officers are Lazy and do not provide enough details so you have to call couple of times to confirm), then take an info pass and visit your field office, ask if your case is assigned to anyone and where are they currently in the process. Field office will be able to tell you what month they are currently processing.

Most cases were transferred to local offices. There are many many many posts on this if you search for them. It's not a big deal, it's normal right now unless both the petitioner and beneficiary are living abroad. good.gif

Thanks, as for me, the last I heard was that my case was at MSC, my local office is Phoenix , status update still says the same thing, with no details as to where my case is.

Nope, not in your case. If the petitioner is living in the States, your case will most likely get sent to a field office. Call USCIS and talk to a Tier 2 rep if you want the specifics on where it's been sent. If the USC is abroad with the foreign spouse, the field office doesn't have the jurisdiction to process the case, so it stays at NBC for processing. That's the only difference. good.gif

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

As everyone else said, You need to call USCIS and ask officer to transfer you to Tier2 officer(wait is about 20 to 30 mins to get to T2 officer). Ask officer if your case is transfer to local office, and ask them where and when. Call again to confirm as sometimes they do not provide accurate information so you wanna make sure. Once you know that your case is at your local field office, take an info pass appointment to get more detail information on where they are currently with your case, if any one assigned on your case or not and how long it will take. Transfer is normal as post Aug 15 most of the cases started getting transfer to local office.

Hey Everyone,

just paid my Affidavit of Support Fee and mailed my Affidavit of Support documents requesting a return receipt.

i also mailed off to my wife in the Philippines a copy of the exact documents i gave NVC.

it'll probably be another three weeks to a month before i hear from NVC so i'm just gonna relax 'til then.

it's been a week since someone posted so i take it not many approvals or updates from NVC.

i'll be praying for all of you.

try to enjoy the weekend and a happy easter to you and your family!
