Just be careful because when I call (like right now) 9 minutes after open, they tell me they aren't open and to call back between 8 and 8.

Helloooo it's 8:09am.

S'okay i just switch to my cell phone and it thinks it's 9:09am now.

Thank you. It is now 9 12 am in Toronto. So, his place will be 8 12 am. It is our local time to call them or their local time?

Wherever you call from.

So if he's calling (which he has to) then it's 8:15am.

If he were in toronto with you, then it would be 9:15am.

I'm just outside of hamilton, but my skype is a chicago based number.

When I call from my skype, it thinks it's an hour earlier than if I call from my cell because my cell is pulling eastern time.

My had our interview today. That was a scary experience. It is butt bitingly cold in Sweden compared to Denmark right now and even with our winter gear on we were freezing waiting outside. We went through security, got into the waiting room and right up to the first counter that took all of our documents since we had skipped the NVC they needed everything you would normally submit to them. Then we waited and my husband was called up for his interview. I could hear his answers but not the questions. The CO asked about when we met, why I hadn't really been working, what I was studying, what he was studying and doing for work, when we had visits, how long we lived together before getting married, when was our marriage, if my family had ever come to visit, and then he tried to trip up my husband by using my mother's name instead of mine (or it was a genuine mistake) but my husband corrected him.

Then on the way out I see he has a paper in his hand and I glanced down and saw 212(g). I practically fainted right then and there. Then I saw that it was because they hadn't received the medical results yet and would issue the visa when they did. Meltdown averted!

Hope everything will be fine soon, Nola. Wishing you and your family all the best and peace of mind.

Just called. Entire call lasted 17minutes.

Didn't seem like 17 minutes.

No idea how long I was on hold for, probably around 9 or 10 minutes.

I feel like I have good luck with times when I call lol

Did you find out anything useful?

We've just passed the 4 month mark with my petition and we haven't received any notification that it's been transferred out of the NBC to a field office. I just want to know where it is so that I can tell everyone who keeps asking my husband and I if we've heard anything something other than "nope, not a peep"

hey everyone!

just wanted to pass on an update status on my wife's petition and that is i just received the hard copy for my wife's NVC case number.

i'll pay the $88 affidavit of support (AOS) fee next check (i know bad on my part hehehe) and i'll have my wife email her agent information instead of mailing it to her.

i didn't research it yet but can she send her agent information before i pay the AOS fee or will I have to pay it first?

congrats to those whose petitions were just recently approved and good luck to those whose are still to be approved...

As soon as you have case numbers and have given NVC your email addresses, she can email the Choice of Agent. good.gif

Yeah, I figured as much. Sigh....hubby won't be happy. He hates calling them. I wish that I could call myself, I think it's a bit ridiculous that the beneficiary can't call to find out about their own case!
