I'm lucky to have a good relationship with my boss which is why he's kept me on since May last year when I was only supposed to be here for 6weeks! haha. He's also been awesome with all of the time off I've had when I was too depressed to get out of bed annnnnnnnnnd he's allowed me a month off to go and visit my husband next week :D But I don't know how much more I can push my luck here.

Fingers crossed that you get your raise and don't get demoted or fired!!

same to you!

heres to not getting fired!

Is it bad that I am slightly considering refiling with the hopes that they don't mess up the file abroad thing this time around?

Considering mailing time and processing times, even for the "filed abroad" pseudo-expedite queue, do you think it will make much difference? You'd be closing in on 5 months for your first filing at that point as it is?

You know I was SERIOUSLY thinking last night "If I had another $420 bucks, I'd just file again with my Canada address"

As you can see, I was a member of this forum for a while before I filed.

I did a lot of research and asked if filing "abroad" from canada was actually faster.

Everyone said no.

Everyone was wrong.

I feel your pain, I really do.

Right now we are trying to figure out how to minimize our time apart and my time in DK. If it seems like it is going to be tricky. Frankly we can't afford a long time apart especially with all the assets tied up in a house and at the same time my daughter really does need to go back to America. We are just praying that something moves along soon.

Hey Everyone,

I had been doing some research about form I-129F K3 Nonimmigrant visa.

What I found out is you can file that concurrently with the I-130 and whichever form gets approved first wins.

The best part is you don't have to pay any filing fees as long as you provide a copy of the I-797C (NOA 1).

I know some of us have past or are coming up on three months so the point in sending this form seems moot.

However, I am considering it greatly while my wife thinks otherwise.

Just some food for thought....

This is mostly a waste of time.

The K3 visa is a more expensive route anyways.

And they get approved about as fast as I-130s and end up being closed.

Though, NOLA, if your 18month estimate proves to be accurate... might want to consider.................

Pssshhhh.... if we don't even have a NOA2 by June....I'm making the Dane move to another EU country with me. Screw this. Both of us can technically live or work anywhere in the EU. If my stupid house sells, we could go live somewhere pretty while we wait it out.

A girl can dream, right?

Does "the Dane" know that you've come to this decision about moving to another EU country?! hmmm....

I was laughing when I noticed you refer to your hubby as "the Dane."

I think you've referred to him in other posts as "the Dane" but in this instance it seemed more funnier...

Out of curiosity, is Denmark that bad of a place to live or it's a nice place to live and it's the economy that sucks?

The economy is great and there is no poverty or working poor...in fact someone working a part time cashier job gets enough money to live off of and then some. Single mothers don't suffer financially and the state can only charge 25% of cost of daycare.

It is the weather and the people that don't sit too well with me. Sometimes it feels a bit like what I'd imagine Soviet Russia to be like (no offense to Russians). There is also the really high taxes on everything, even healthy food and a massive tax on cars. For that reason, most of our neighbors use bicycles even in the dead of winter. I can literally look out my window in a snowstorm at 3 am and see people bicycling, perhaps not a whole lot but you do see them. The culture is not friendly to traditional relationships, stay at home wives, etc. It is a weird place to live.

TBH, I've never seen an American wife last it permanently here.

He knows how I feel about this and is against us being separated after getting married. We've never spent more than 4 months apart and we met in person about 2 months after we met online, so the extended separation would be weird for us.

Honestly, he could care less where we live as long as I am happy. We've got family and friends in the UK and Netherlands who'd take us in in a pinch. If we get NOA2 before the summer, I am probably going back to America in May regardless as it is in between by Abstract Algebra I and Abstract Algebra II classes and the wee one probably should go to summer camp.

He knows I call him the Dane because he reads my blog! Actually, I think it makes it easier to identify that I'm the USC when I refer to him as the Dane. I did call him BJ for a long time because I couldn't pronounce Bjarne too well, but he isn't fond of that.
