medical isn't needed whilst the casefile is at NVC.

You might want to rethink this 'getting the medical' bit, trying for a civil surgeon appointment just a few weeks prior to the interview date,

as

the validity of the visa hinges around the medical exam date.

re: NOA-2 - that's the petitioner's document, not yours.

re: further processing at NVC - you two might want to study now, for what's what, over at

and understand a bit more about NVC Document intake, what's required, and why it's important.

For example, if you're going to the USA for a visit, bring all civil documents with you that the DS-230 requires, and put them in yer husband's hands, and fill out a DS-230 whilst yer in the USA - leave it with him.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Thank you, I have been studying all the processes...well I thought I'd studied them correctly but I misunderstood when I needed to book in my appointment with the civil surgeon. Thank you for clarifying.

I was thinking of taking all of the DS-230 documents and the form to my husband when I visit, I just don't want him to lose them...he's pretty good at losing things! Haha! So if I do take them with me I'll put them all in a brightly coloured envelope so that he doesn't lose track of them!

Thank you for your comments, that's why I love this forum...everyone is so patient and helpful!

Get a heavy plastic shipping envelope.

Duct tape it to his chest hair.

The plastic is useful, as your documents won't get wet when he takes a bath.

The duct tape is useful, as he can't possible lose yer documents set.

Spoke with an ISO today and he said estimated wait time is 6-8 months :(

I was told 7-9 months last week. Seems like they've improved a month within a week. 5 months is my hope. The sooner the better. They seem to be going the under promise over perform route.

I like to imagine that the children in your picture write your posts.

Fingers crossed that the speedy approvals continue and that each of us will be at the NVC by the end of the month! (wishful thinking? probably...but miracles do happen!!)

Your birthday is also January 19th? Neato! :goofy:

I finally figured out what my weird touch on December 17th was about. I've received a bizarre letter from NVC mail a little after. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/407903-weird-nvc-letter/

I have no idea what it means...though. :huh2:

My husband filed I-130 on Nov 22 and got NOA1 date on Nov 29. Mine is still on "Initial review". :(

Shall we call and ask them?

About what? It'll keep saying Initial Review until it is approved, which probably won't be until at the very earliest February.
